hi again,im in k1 and Since i have a daughter who is included in the petition who will just follow coz she wants to finish hghschool here in PI. My question is here, my manila case number (if ever i have it)is the same mnl case number she will use when we re going to pay her visa? thanks for all the reply..

Yes, it is the same case number and you should proceed just like she will be traveling with you. Get the medical all done and the interview and all of that. She has up to a year to follow you, but she will need have entered the U.S. before you can file for AOS unless you do a separate AOS for her which will cost more. Another thing she needs to understand is that just because she has her High School done in the PI, it will not be equal to a U.S. diploma and she will need to return to high school here in the U.S. to complete some of the courses that are required for a U.S. High School diploma or be able to pass a GED test. She won't have the U.S. specific courses like History, Government, 4 years of English, and possibly many others.

09/02/11 - Application Fee's paid via BDO

09/05/11 - Interview Appointment Confirmation

09/12/11 - Medical Day 1

09/13/11 - Medical Day 2

- K2 passed and received vacinations

- K1 required Sputum Culture -- SLMEC -x-ray looked "cloudy"

09/15/11 - Interview date, (Canceled)

09/26/11 - Culture Day 1

09/28/11 - Culture Day 3 -- 1st part of testing Negative

11/03/11 - New Interview Appointment Confirmation for 12/05/11 (trying to avoid delay)

11/28/11 - Sputum Culture Negative

12/01/11 - Vacinations and retesting for K1, retesting for K2, Medical Cleared

12/05/11 - Interview - Given 221(g)

-- Wanted CENOMAR for daughter's father directly from NSO, she had a NSO origional document in hand

-- Required a police clearance from Japan even though it has been over 10 years.

12/06/11 - Applied to NSO for daughter's father's CENOMAR to be sent directly to NSO

12/07/11 - Applied to Japanese Embassy in Manila for Police Clearance

01/20/12 - Japanese Police Clearance is at the embassy

02/07/12 - Visa's issued

02/23/12 - K1 Visa Expired

02/26/12 - Flights to US

:no: if following to join, a K-2 Visa must be issued within one year of the date the K-1 Visa. if you apply for the K-2 Visa at the same time as your K-1 Visa, then the child must enter the US before the visa expires, which is 6 months. for AOS, the child will require a separate application, whether coming at same time or follow to join. the difference is when applying at the same time, the fee is $685, if the child is under 14 years old. when filing separately, the fee is the regular $985.
