Immigration to UK?

I posted a while ago and have been still looking into things a lot, thinking maybe trying to see if I can immigrate to the UK easier than him to the US because he'd be able to work. Here's the run-down: My husband is a British citizen and I am an American citizen. He is planning on joining the RAF police and we're trying to work out how to get me immigrated over to the UK. Will him being in the RAF help us out any? I know it'll give us security as far as him having a job and housing but will it help things? I've been doing odd jobs mostly for farmers around my area in Alaska so I haven't had a solid employment to prove much in the way of finance, and he's been a student at Uni so I'm really not sure how to work the whole proving of funds thing...I could really use some advice from someone who understands all this better.

Thanks!

-Rebecca

I certainly hope so.

Yes, I realize that, but in order to get one of those I need to sponsor him, correct? and in order to do that, I need to be making a certain amount of money and also I need to be 21. I'm just about 20, so that won't work. Not for a while anyway...we're trying to figure out the quickest way for us to be together.

Thank you, everyone for your replies. Doing more research. Any more input would be most appreciated! cheers

The age requirement for a sponsor is only 18 but you would need enough income.

You don't need to be 21, and if you don't meet the financial requirements, you can use a joint sponsor: someone whose income is sufficient and who would be willing to file the affidavit of support for your husband, whether it's family, friend... doesn't matter.
