Don't read if you haven't seen tonight's episode yet. Btw is this the finale or do we have one or two more to go??

What I don't get is that way back when the producers of this show stated that

the island is NOT pergatory. Well I guess from this you really can't say it is

*but* those who thought it was (like me) weren't too far off. Kinda freaky

though that it looks like Ben crossed over to the "dead people's side" and

killed all the living.

This whole episode gave me a huge brain cramp !

And what about that guy- can't remember his name right now, he was talking to Ben as a child,does he not age on the Island?

I was thinking exactly the same thing.

I am SO confused. Then again I missed a bunch of episodes (you can't watch them online when you are outside of the US which SUCKS) and I never took the time to watch them when I came home.

Adter reading Doodlebugs post- that theory does make sense. Maybe that is the reason he hasn't aged.

But then what about the others- who are Others? Some of them have died while the show has been on.

Great episode. It a ggod to an insight into bens character and see some of his past.

I had figured that the

dharma initiative was no more but did not know who th others where. Ok still dont know who they are but i guess tthats something for season 4. That guy definitely doensnt age and what about mikhail - I know he said the fence wasn't turned up to a lethal level but i bet he did "die" and that that he was one of the original others.

I hope that the rumours are true and that they do only make another 2 or 3 seasons. The producers said that they were worried about alienating viewers if there was no end date given to keep people watching. I know that i might get bored in season 5 if i thought it might go ion for an unknown period but if i know it finishes 2 season down the line then i would stay hoooked.

Ps The others that have died so far may have been brought here since (like juliet) by the others. Exactly how many of the others are from the island and how many where brought there we don't know. See my point about Mikhail above.

I don't think they're dead. I think they'll still have an explanation other than "purgatory", "dead people", etc.

Someone said they have a fountain of youth there, and that's why Richard still looks the same.

I have no idea what to think, really. I am very confused and very intrigued. It was fun finding out that the Others are not Dharma and that they wiped out everything. Btw, Ben was a janitor, so I bet he doesn't even know all that Dharma was actually doing in the island. Now why does Dharma keeps received food if they were wiped out and don't communicate with anyone anymore? Did Ben took over and they kept pretending to be still Dharma and working?

Now the big question is gonna be "Who are the "hostiles"?

I think the non-aging thing might have something to do with the Dharma experiments.. I think they were trying to find cures for a bunch of stuff etc... or maybe there is a fountain of youth or something on the island...

and who the heck are the 'hostiles'? i thoguht the guy that little Ben ran into when he ran into the forest looking for his mom, is the current 'richard' (i think) .. the guy that handed the red folder containing sawyer's info to locke.

i don't recall hearing a 'jacob' before.... i think i missed one episode. hmmm

then that french woman,,, just camly walked in, grabbed a box of unstable dynamite whilst locke locked sawyer up with locke's dad.... and just waltzes out with that box. must be heck uva lot of dynamite there inthat ship. she blew up her pad in an earlier episode.

yeah, sure glad they have an end in sight and hopefully they will explain a lot of stuffif not all.

My mom and sister were into it from when it started. I would watch a few minutes here and there- I thought it was a dumb show!

My sister bought seasons 1 and 2 on DVD, I finally sat down and watched it from the beginning. I was hooked!

yeah, that is the same Richard.....

the hostiles are the Others that the Losties are "fighting" against...

I think they are the original inhabitants of the island...

Jacob has been mentioned a few times.... maybe not the name Jacob but there have been a bunch of references to him

Jacob, previously known only as "Him", is the apparent leader of the Others and the person from whom Ben receives his orders. According to Ben no-one else speaks to Jacob, neither does anyone else know where Jacob is. He lives in a dilapidated-looking cabin somewhere close to the mass grave in the jungle, which is surrounded by a perimeter of what appears to be some sort of dust or powder. The exact identity of Jacob is currently unknown.

According to Ben, Jacob can cure cancer as mentioned in "One of Us". It's safe to assume that Jacob is responsible for the creation of the lists, and deciding who are "good people", as Danny Pickett states Jack wasn't on Jacob's list in"I Do".

* In "Maternity Leave", Tom said "You know what he'll do when he finds out," implying that "he" is above both Tom and Ethan Rom in the Others' hierarchy.

* Ben said that Jacob would heal Rachel's cancer if Juliet agreed to stay on the Island in "One of Us".

* The name Jacob is also visible in the Room 23 video watched by Karl in the episode, "Not in Portland", where a title says "God loves you as He loved Jacob". In "Stranger in a Strange Land", when Sawyer and Kate are discussing returning to Hydra Island, Karl says "He'll kill you. God loves you as he loved Jacob".
