Im sure this has been asked alot...........but im in afghanistan and there starting to close everything and send people and i really want to get my wifes visa before i get sent home.

just got this by email.......what does it mean and how long will thei all take.

hi welcome to VJ, since your petition got sent to Vermont you may be lucky and have your petition approved within 3-5 months. Sometimes its sooner and sometimes its later. Good luck to you..........

A CR-1 visa is an immigrant visa, immigrant visa holders are considered residents when they arrive in the US using the visa. The admission stamp placed on the passport page next to the visa by CBP allows the visa page to act as a temporary green card until the actual green card arrives in the mail. You, the US Citizen will not be applying for anything, you filed the petition. Your wife will apply for a visa from the Embassy.

Since you are already married, a US wedding would be nothing more than a celebration. It's quite okay to have such a celebration if desired.

im not military but i am with the DOD as a civ contractor with a clearance.........hopefully that will speed things up with the FBI because ive had lots of background checks over the last couple years

well we have gotten the I-797 in the mail......so what do we do now just wait......is there anything i need to start filing.

ive filled out an I-129-f just trying to think of what i will need so its ready to go.......im printing out all are bank card info so i will have all that and im taking

with me to Ethiopia on my next R&R.....i have her transfer all the money on the card into her bank account.....and im getting an Ethiopian ID card for me........had to wait 1 year after we married.

That's the NOA1 hardcopy; now you wait for an adjudication decision.

Don't bother with the I-129F, if you submit it, your I-130 will be pulled from its current place in the queue and placed with the I-129F that will have just been submitted. Additionally, an adjudication decision on both petitions would come at the same time. If both are approved, they would be sent to the NVC at the same time. If the NVC receives both petitions at the same time (or the I-130 arrives first), the I-129F is administratively closed leaving only the I-130 active.

Its been raining and cold here since nov........im just sick of this place.
