My wife has a police certificate that is almost 6 months old. By the time of our interview, 6 months+. The agency that she got her Police Certificate from in China told her it's only good for 6 months. Seems that I heard that Guangzhou allows 1 year. Should she get a new one?

Can she check and verify that it is 6 months instead of 12 months, it should have it on it? If it is expired she will need a new one.

According to her, it has NO expiration date on it. When she got it, some other paper at the police office said they were valid for 6 months. But, that was primarily if it was needed for "Chinese" purposes. I thoght I read/heard that US Consulate acceted them up to one year, but looking to verify or not.

Great idea! I did and they answered. For the benefit of future readers, Police Certificates are valid for one year from date of issue. The day the Visa is issued, they must not be older than 1 year.
