I just wanted to introduce myself and say how excited I am to have found a community to share this experience with.

I'm a USC engaged to a UK citizen. We met in France in 2010, and got engaged (also in France!) just before New Year's Eve 2011. We've just sent in our packet for the K1 Visa Petition -- we're doing it ourselves, without lawyers -- and we're excited to begin the process.

I'll keep everyone up-to-date as things progress, but wanted to say HELLO and thanks-in-advanced for any support and advice I may need in the future.

December 30, 2011 - Engaged!
February 10, 2012 - I-129F petition packet sent to Dallas Lockbox
February 13, 2012 - I-129F petition packet arrived at Dallas Lockbox
February 15, 2012 - NOA 1 - petition received
June 29, 2012 - NOA 2 - petition approved
July 27, 2012 - USCIS officially sent petition to NVC
July 30, 2012 - NVC received petition
August 1, 2012 - NVC assigned case number and petition sent from NVC to consulate
August 11, 2012 - Received "Packet 3" from Embassy
August 28, 2012 - All "Packet 3" documents (including DS2001) sent to Embassy
August 30, 2012 - Medical exam
September 17, 2012 - Date all forms logged as received at embassy according to DOS
September 19, 2012 - DOS gives us interview date over the phone
September 22, 2012 - Appointment letter arrived
October 3, 2012 - Interview at London Embassy
October 3, 2012 - [u][b]APPROVED!!!![/u][/b]
October 10, 2012 - Visa arrived via DX courier
October 25, 2012 - Laura moves to the US / POE at LAX

Hiya! I'm new here too and excited to meet someone else who's fiance is from the UK and is at about the same point in process as we are. I'm putting the finishing touches on my I-129F tomorrow and mailing it on Thursday :D

Initially filed for K1 visa - Feb 23 2012

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we've abandoned this application

We married on Aug 24, 2013 in a small ceremony in MA

We'll be applying for a CR1 / IR1 visa as soon as we are able
