Hmmm...Are you sure there is no appointment listed on it? The first NOA is not traceable online, but the second NOA that I received had the traceable number and the appointment for biometrics.

I checked that NOA many times...No invitation/instructions for biometrics yet! So right now I have 1 extension letter dated March 12 and another NOA that is 2 pages saying, in essence, that they have received my Removal of Condition application and they will notify me about biometrics on a separate notice. This last NOA has a case number that I was able to look up online. I'm confused! :wacko::blink:

I had the same thing happened today in my wife's case.

Sent I-751 on 3/8/12 to VSC... Shortly after got NOA1 extending the GC for another year. Had an EAC case that was NOT traceable online.

Got "CRI89 approved removal of conditions i89" NOA receipt notice today that had 2 pages of info on it, but nothing substantial. New case number which is now traceable as CRI89 and is in "Initial Review" phase.

Here is a status:

On March 12, 2012, we received this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

Don't know what to make of it, especially with the word "approved" in the case heading... I was 100% sure this would be biometrics notice, but nope it wasn't.

I have that part on my NOA. I think it's just to remind people not to ONLY send the I-751. Please tell me the date marked on your NOA so that I can add it to the list :D

I had the same thing happened today in my wife's case.

Sent I-751 on 3/8/12 to VSC... Shortly after got NOA1 extending the GC for another year. Had an EAC case that was NOT traceable online.

Got "CRI89 approved removal of conditions i89" NOA receipt notice today that had 2 pages of info on it, but nothing substantial. New case number which is now traceable as CRI89 and is in "Initial Review" phase.

Here is a status:

On March 12, 2012, we received this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

Don't know what to make of it, especially with the word "approved" in the case heading... I was 100% sure this would be biometrics notice, but nope it wasn't.

Yeah, I got the same thing!It might be something new, as I saw another user opening a topic about it. However, I don't think it's an approval notice...I wish! :blush:

I have added my info for VSC..a bit late but was busy..Just wanted to also everyone know that I received another NOA today with a case number. The document is 2 pages, says "Notice Receipt" but also “CRI89 approved removal of conditions (I89).” This does not mean my case was approved. According to the USCIS (page circa 2008) that statement means that "the biometric portion of the case has been successfully transferred; it does not, however, mean that the petition itself was approved."
