Hi AntipodeanPhil,

Thanks for sharing. I also never received my NOA1, so I'll try to set up an appointment and get the stamp at least... You didn't need to have a record of a prior service request to set up an appointment through InfoPass?

I'll try asking for a new NOA1 letter though, because my employer demands to see it. Ugh...

I didn't. When I got to the infopass page that says "Please select Kind of Service you need," I initially selected "You need Service on a case that has already been filed," but none of the options it listed once I had selected that option fit my situation, so I went back and selected "You need information or other services" instead. Nobody said anything about it at the USCIS office. I didn't even bother trying to call USCIS, since I've had bad experiences calling in the past.

We thought you are Feb filer, so we didn't add you to the list ;)

Whoops! I meant to write 'March.' I was a little panicky at the time and not thinking clearly - we'd already spent $3000 on a trip to Europe in June, and I was worried we wouldn't be able to go.

Thanks for adding me! I'd probably mess it up if I tried to add myself. I'll check back in here as my case progresses.

We specifically asked for the stamp in the passport at our infopass appointment(which we made the same day of biometrics appt.) after explaining that we never received the notification letter to extend green card. They said they couldn't do it. Not sure why and they didn't give a reason but said the would send a duplicate NOA1. We got the duplicate in the mail yesterday. Good luck to all with the process!

I thought I'd post again in case my information is helpful.

My wife and I sent our joint I-751 on March 23, received in VT on March 26. We got a biometrics appointment in the mail on April 12, for a May 7 appointment, but never got a NOA1. Our mailperson is awful, so I suspect she lost it or delivered it to the wrong person.

I made an infopass appointment for the same day as my biometrics appointment, in Atlanta. At the infopass appointment the USCIS staff member put a year-long I-551 stamp in my passport. I'd only half explained my situation, but as soon as I mentioned I hadn't received the NOA1 she stopped me, checked some stuff on her computer, and went off to get the stamp. She didn't suggest mailing me a new NOA1.

I'm quite pleased about the I-551 stamp. We're travelling overseas in June, and the letter would have been a hassle. Plus, the expiration date on the stamp is May 6 2013, probably a month and a half later than the expiration date of the letter.

AntipodeanPhil and JLP9576:

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences. I just made an InfoPass appointment for 5/21 in NYC and hope to get this mess straightened out before my GC expires (6/25).

PS. What a relief you must have felt when the duplicate finally arrived in your mailbox :-) Boo missing mail.

Thanks, Otta,

It was a huge relief as his green card had expired on 4/20. I wish you the best in getting what you need to extend it!

So guess we are expecting no sooner than November for VSC filers?

Kinda looks like it, dunno why VSC always has to be so far behind. Hope it goes quicker for you though

You can look on the USCIS website (that's where I looked) If you check your case status (the wac number from your bio appt letter) then at the bottom you can use the dropdown boxes and see the processing times for each of the service centers...VSC is 8 months.
