I got my biometrics date for 04/23 but have not received my NOA1 yet. That's just REALLY odd. I assume the NOA1 is the letter extending the green card for another year while it's in process? What do I do if I never get it? It's almost been 2 weeks since the check was cashed.

Raise the question during your bio appointment if you don't have NOA until then. ASC will stamp your passport with extended I-551.

We are in the same boat as we received our biometrics notice yesterday for 4/30/12 but never received NOA1.

I only got 1 ..r we going to get more after the NOA receipt with 1 year extension..im a bit lost...anyone can clear me this?

So today I have received another NOA, dated March 22nd. This one is a 2 pages NOA; however,it gives me a case number EAC# that is traceable online. Is that what you guys have received so far?First time an extension letter AND then another 2 pages NOA that has the case number that you can look up online?

I was hoping to get the biometric letter, not another NOA...

i didn't get 2nd NOA in the mail yet so i can check my case online =(

I had the same thing happened today in my wife's case.

Sent I-751 on 3/8/12 to VSC... Shortly after got NOA1 extending the GC for another year. Had an EAC case that was NOT traceable online.

Got "CRI89 approved removal of conditions i89" NOA receipt notice today that had 2 pages of info on it, but nothing substantial. New case number which is now traceable as CRI89 and is in "Initial Review" phase.

Here is a status:

On March 12, 2012, we received this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

Don't know what to make of it, especially with the word "approved" in the case heading... I was 100% sure this would be biometrics notice, but nope it wasn't.

There's a slight problem there, my passport has expired and won't be renewed till half a year at least. It takes that long between the embassy here and them sending back to Malaysian and back here again.

Ooops! Maybe you should try to call the MisInformation line and ask them to resend the NOA? I don't have much faith in that though.

Yeah...that didnt work. They told me to wait 30 days before calling back as there is no time frame on the extension letter.

I think asking about it during bio appt is still the safest bet. At least you will talk so someone in person, and it will be an actual IO, not some clueless call center dude.

Updated ours in the list Got our ASC Appointment letter in the mail today dated 4/6/2012. Her appointment is on the 27th of this month but I think we'll try to do it early. I don't guess you have to have a reason other than it being more convenient for you do you? She works that day so we'll try it on next week on our day off.

To all of you who didn´t receive your NOA..... but you received your Biometric appt letter, you MUST make an INFOPASS appt online at www.uscis.gov. You can choose date/time of the appt. Uscis sends the NOA BEFORE they send the Biometric Appt, so If you did not receive it yet, you ARE NOT gonna get it, and they don´t send copies or duplicates. Don´t waste anytime and do it ASAP. You can call USCIS, number is in your ASC (Biometric appt letter) to get more info. That is what we did. My passport is expired too but they stamped it anyway, they don´t care if your passport is active or expired at all. I am in the process to renew my passport,but still use it as a proof of my year extension. If your greencard expires and you don´t have the stamp in your passport OR the NOA letter, you are OUT OF STATUS, you don´t want it.

The appointment takes 5 minutes, just take with you, your ASC letter, your passport, greencard or ID and you will be fine.

I really don´t know why my I never received my NOA, but they told me it might be lost in the mail. We sent the package in Jan 18, never got it.

No, you are NOT out of status if this happens. You just don't have any document on hand to prove your status.
