Wow, i'm so outta it i typo'd my title lol. First off, forgive all the questions, its been so long since i filed paperwork for immigration i have forgotten how confusing and stressful it is and its starting to get to me again!

I've read the guides, but just for peace of my mind, let me know this is what i have to get for my AOS (forgive the stupid questions, confusion has taken over my brain again):

-$395 for AOS and biometrics

-$170 for AP

-$180 for EAD

-I-864 including all the stuff needed to do for I-134 plus now its only one year tax return correct?

-Copy of my passport

-Copy of my K1

-Copy of my NOA2 from I-129F

-Copy of I-94

-my birth certificate

-marriage certificate (it says if filing for your spouse i am filing for myself as a spouse, is that the same thing?)

-2 passport type photos

-all four G-325A's

-Vaccination supplement

ALL the stuff I mentioned goes with package and none stays with me until the interview correct? Does proof of relationship come at the interview, or do i send proof with my package? My husband works two jobs and with them meets the guidelines for 2006, that counts right? Forgive the silly question but is the requirement that in his ONE job he meets the guidelines, or if he works two and meets the guidelines that counts?

Ok, i think thats it, thanks for the help!

You take all your proof of a bona fide marriage to the interview, such as mortgage/lease documents, joint bank account and credit card statements, joint car ownership and insurance documents, medical insurance cards with both your names on it, life insurance policy showing you as the beneficiary, wedding photos, etc.

It looks like you've got everything else.

The AOS interview is probably even less stressful than the K-1 interview. The worst that can happen is that you might have to go back with any additional information that you didn't have at the interview. But at least you'll be able to stay in the U.S..... it just means your Green Card will arrive later than you expected.

Good luck getting the paperwork finished and best wishes for a speedy approval.

And yes, your husbands two jobs are fine as long as together they are above the poverty line. He will need letters from both employers.

Isn't the worst thing that can happen, is being denied and deported if they believe that the marriage is not bona fide or requirements were not met?

I've read a few cases where couples were denied.

Note* I'm not saying that people on here commit fraud or that marriages are not bona fide, but it is up to the discretion of the ma'am/sir interviewing couples right? That's the impression I was under.

I think that most people have fears of being denied and torn from the ones they love.

Don't send originals in your initial packet, send copies.

Take all your proof of relationship to the interview, and have copies prepared if they want to keep any of it.

Hi Stina. :) I'm at the same stage as you, about to file AOS/EAD/AP and getting back on the wagon of stress and anxiety. It's much easier this time around, being with my husband, but still, it'll be wonderful when all of this immigration business is over.

Just yesterday I made a list of everything I'm sending, in the correct order as listed in the official instructions.

Here goes.

- coverletter

- completed I-485 form with money orders for AOS/biometrics ($395), EAD ($180), and AP ($170) attached to top left corner.

- 2 passport-style photos in envelope attached to top left corner

- copy of my (non-USC's) birth certificate

- copy of biographic page in passport

- copy of K1 visa in passport

- vaccination supplement

- G-325A

- copy of I-94 (front and back)

- completed I-864 form, notarised (+attached sheet showing details of J's 2 jobs)

- copy of last 3 years tax returns (I know the rule recently changed to only 1, but I'm playing it safe)

- employer letters (originals)

- copy of recent pay stub

- copy of J's (USC's) birth certificate

- copy of NOA2

- copy of marriage certificate

- copy of previous marriage divorce decree/death certificate

- completed form I-765

- 2 passport-style photos in envelope attached to top left corner

- copy of I-485 (to show proof of filing at same time)

- copy of I-94 (front and back)

(possibly a copy of our marriage certificate to show name change)

- completed form I-131 (+ attachment explaining why I want AP)

- 2 passport-style photos in envelope attached to top left corner

- copy of biographic page in passport

(again, possibly a copy of our marriage certificate to show name change. Just to be sure!)

- copy of I-94 (front and back)

Package it all up and then wish it luck. :)

When filling out the I-864 to explain J's 2 jobs, all we did is attach a sheet and list which question we were answering, his name and SSN (as suggested in the instructions), and the details of his 2 jobs. Then in the total income section, we just listed his total income from both jobs. Worked for the I-134.

Good luck!
