A few days ago I had a lot of leftover beef from a BBQ we had and I was searching for some kind of stir fry sauce... I found this one and it was sooo good....

Teriyaki Sauce

1/4 cup tamari soy sauce (soy sauce)

1 cup water (I used 1 cup beef broth instead of 1 cup water)

fresh grated ginger (about 1 Tbs. or to your taste) (I used about 1/4 tsp to 1/2 tsp powdered ginger)

3 tablespoons brown sugar

1 minced garlic clove

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1/4 cup cold water

1. Combine 1 cup water, soy sauce, brown sugar and garlic and ginger in a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

2. Dissolve corn starch in 1/4 cup of cold water and add to sauce.

3. Stir constantly to allow the sauce to thicken.

4. If the sauce is too thick add a little water or soy sauce to thin.

I just cut up the beef and bell pepper and fried it up a bit and then threw in a pack of frozen stir fry vegies and cooked that for a bit and then I threw in a can of drained baby corn and cooked that for a bit and lastly I added the sauce and just let it all heat through...

It was really yummy!!

I would love a recipe for Pancit if any of our Fillipina ladies has one to share.

There was another dish my girlfriend used to make with noodles that resembled

spaghetti and I believe she used some lemon in it. No idea if this is a dish or

just some random thing she created. All of the Pancit recipes I see online

just don't seem the same as how she made it, so give me your homemade versions

lol.

I have used this recipe a few times and it always comes out great....

Easy Pizza Dough for Bread Machine

1 cup water ( I usually use beer instead of water)

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil

3/4 teaspoon salt

3 cups bread flour (I use half bread flour and half regular flour)

2 teaspoons sugar

1 teaspoon highly active dry yeast

2 teaspoons dried herbs (basil, rosemary, oregano, parsley, etc.) (optional)

1. Add ingredients to pan in order listed, set bread machine on"dough" and walk away. (Once the dough has started mixing, check it and you might need to add some extra water until the dough is a bit sticky to the touch... )

2. After the cycle is completed, lightly coat dough ball in flour and roll or slap out to desired size. (I like to remove dough from pan and lightly coat with olive oil and then let the dough rest for about 20 minutes or so and then roll out and place on pan and I bake the dough for about 5 minutes or so before adding the toppings.... the precooking thing all depends on how thin you roll out the dough))

3. Top with desired sauce, cheeses, meats and/or veggies and bake at 400° until cheese is golden brown.

4. Will make a 9-10" pizza of average thickness, or a 13-14" thin crust pizza.

5. For best results, bake on a preheated baking stone sprinkled with corn meal.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!! out of curiosity, why do you use beer instead of water? what does it do for the dough?

always love to get good (and tested) bread recipes! can't wait to be able to cook in my new kitchen!

the beer adds flavour and I think it helps with the rising of the dough too....

I just have heard of people doing it and I tired it and the dough comes out great....

I made pizza last night and I had the dough sitting on the counter and hubby walks by and sniffs the dough and said "mmm, that smells really good"

For spices I added some garlic powder, oregano, parsley and a dash of sweet paprika...

I have made this recipe before too... I served it with some pulled pork sandwiches, they were really yummy....

Homemade Hamburger Buns (Bread Machine)

1 1/4 cups milk, slightly warmed

1 beaten egg

2 tablespoons butter

1/4 cup white sugar

3/4 teaspoon salt

3 3/4 cups bread flour (I don't usually use all bread flour, I use part regular flour and part bread flour)

1 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

1. Place all ingredients in pan of bread machine according to manufacturer's directions.

2. Select dough setting.

3. When cycle is complete, turn out onto floured surface.

4. Cut dough in half and roll each half out to a 1" thick circle.

5. Cut each half into six 3 1/2" rounds with inverted glass as a cutter.

6. Place on greased baking sheet far apart and brush with melted butter.

7. Cover and let rise until doubled, about one hour.

8. Bake at 350° for 9 minutes.

9. Note: Oven temperatures vary so check after 9 minutes to see if done. Some reviewers baked these anywhere from 12 to 30 minutes.

**you probably could use this dough recipe for cinnamon rolls too....

mmmmmm....thanks Marilyn! Bread is one of my favourite things to bake. I've been grinding my own wheat berries for fresh flour. Makes incredibly fresh bread and it never lasts long. Right now I don't have a source for wheat berries that I can order from (that doesn't cost an arm, leg and kidney) so I'm back to buying store bought flour. Still good though. Thanks for the recipes! :)

your welcome...

my bread machine tends to overcook the bread.. the cycle lasts about 4 hours or something... but maybe I just haven't found the right recipe yet.... but the machine works great for dough...

the next time I want to make bread I think I will make the dough in the machine and just take it out and put it in a pan and let it rise and bake it like that....

That's what I do. I have a kitchen machine that mixes and kneads the bread dough for me. Once it's mixed well I set it to Auto Knead and when the gluten is developed, it shuts off. After that, all I have to do is remove the dough, shape and let it rise. The bread is sooooo yummy this way and easier to slice...no soft spots or "clumps" in the middle.

I tired this recipe the other night and it was easy to make and very tasty.... My hubby gave it an A ...

Cheddar Macaroni Beef Casserole

1 pkg. (7-1/4 oz.) KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Dinner

1 lb. lean ground beef

1 can (14-1/2 oz.) Italian-style stewed tomatoes, undrained

1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves or dried basil leaves

1 cup KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese

PREHEAT oven to 400ºF. Prepare Dinner as directed on package, omitting butter. Meanwhile, brown meat in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat; drain. Add tomatoes and oregano; mix well. Bring to boil.

ADD meat mixture to Dinner; spoon into 2-qt. casserole dish. Sprinkle with cheese.

BAKE 10 min. or until cheese is melted and casserole is heated through.

Substitution: Prepare as directed but use KRAFT Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese Dinner.

I was just noticing that it says to omit the butter/margarine when preparing the Mac & Cheese, I didn't see that part and I didn't omit it but it still came out good....
