OVERSEAS PETITIONS ARE NOT GETTING APPROVED IN 30DAYS! JUST A LIE!

I'm overseas with my spouse and have been for 8 months now and the embassy still wouldn't process my petition so I sent it to the Chicago lockbox and got my NOA1 a month ago today and still no NOA2. I guess my petition fell in with the rest of the petitions.I thought I was going to get my petition approved in as little as 30 days like everyone else who filed from overseas.

Ehrr, it's not a lie dear. Dozens of members are here to prove it. The fact it doesn't seem to work for you is unfortunate, but it doesn't make it less true.

However, did you give your address abroad in all the forms?

If I remember well, your package was sent from the US by a family member. If you also gave a US address in the forms, well... they just considered you reside in the US.

I'm not sure they read the cover letters at all. If all the forms say you live in the US, then that's how they're gonna handle it.

I understand that the faster processing for overseas applicants was only through DCF. Once you file through the lockbox, you're processed like everyone else. Sadly, We had to file through the lockbox as well since DCF is not an option for our country. I had hoped for speedier processing as well! You'll get there soon!

No, you don't get it: since DCF stopped in most countries, cases where USC resides abroad are self-expedited. See my timeline. I haven't seen any member in the same situation that didn't get an approval by USCIS in less than 30 days since October.

However to make things clear, in our case, we sent plenty of evidence that my husband had been residing in France for 3 years (legal resident card, utility bills in both our names, etc...). These items were meant to prove bona fide relationship but they also showed that his legal residence had been in France for years.

Thanks for the clarification!! That cheers me up a bit! Kind of glad I misunderstood!

Would using my US address confuse the issue? I used the address to he property I own, where I still get mail as the address in an attempt to show intent to return. All of our supporting documentation shows that I work and live outside the country though. Do you think I confused the issue?

Oh God really? Because I had ask to know which address to use and they told me to use my U.S address because they don't mail overseas. Is there anyway I can fix that mistake then? Because I don't even see a number where I can call from overseas. The only one I see is a automated voice machine one not a real agent.

Well they gave you wrong information, we received both NOAs hard copies here in France :(

I can't say for sure it's the reason why they're not processing you as fast as other USCs residing abroad. It's just a wild guess.

I know my husband called them from France a few times, he just used the number he found on uscis.gov. Somehow if you press the right keys you end up talking with someone.

I have no idea, I hope other members who got the "fast forward" can drop by and say which address they used on the forms.

You don't actually have to prove intent to relocate so early in the process. It comes later.

I'm afraid the USCIS agents won't be much help, I'm not sure they even know about this "special treatment".

Is it worth filing a change of address to reflect my actual foreign address? Or will that confuse them/not matter?

There's some confusion here, we are NOT talking about DCF.
