Hey anyone knows the validity of Bangladesh police clearance certificate, My certificate issued on 30th January 2012 and i will received that certificate end of this, but in certificate there is nothing mentioned about expiry date. Anyone can help me about the validity of Bangladesh police clearance certificates; I heard that UAE police clearance certificate validity only for 3 month.

Any one can help me please

FYI – My opinions are based on immigration visa experience only:

In general the embassy accepts Police Certificate not older than 6 months (unless stated otherwise by the police certificate it self). I do not think there would be any expiration date for a police certificate from Bangladesh and it is open ended. That 4-6 months may vary based on countries as well; however I think that's pretty common/suggested that once your case has been approved by USCIS and moved to NVC, you should start preparing for all your documents such as police certificate. The assumption here is that your interview won't take more than 5 months from the date when you submitted all these docs to NVC and your interview date.

If it goes beyond that acceptable date range, the embassy will ask you to get your police certificate again. I've seen then asking for that in many cases, not because there were problems or they had suspicion, rather it was probably over their date range and wanted a fresh copy just to make sure you haven't committed any crime since then. My suggestion would be; this is something you shouldn’t worry about unless you have committed a crime :-) Just provide a recent police certificate when/where it is required and that’s it.

Best of luck

Thank you very much hellraiser,

To day i have received my BD police clearance certificate, hopefully by the end of this month i could submitted my Visa application form with all documents, in the mean time my Petitioner ( wife) all ready submitted her AOS document and its approved by the NVC,

But now i have some doubt about police clearance certificate from UAE, actually I was in Dubai for 3 years, but last year my company transferred me in Abudhabi with same company... and i have apply police clearance from Abudhabi police and i have got police clearance certificate accordantly. But now my question is that, as I was in dubai, shall I have to collect another PCC from Dubai police also????

If you are no longer residing in UAE you will not need to worry about it. Police clearances are only available for people who are still residing in the country. They are considered unobtainable once you are outside of the country.

I would bring your old clearances to the interview in case they ask but you will not need a new one provided you are no longer in UAE.

That is a good question. I think you will have to contact the embassy in Abu Dhabi, either by emailing or calling to ask them if they will also want you to get a new police clearance from Dubai. I think they prefer email but I would try both. I would also mention that you have a Dubai police clearance that is approx. 1 year old. I hope you won't have to go back to Dubai to get the clearance but you may have to.

Please come back and update this thread once you get your answer!

Good luck!
