Well, I changed my Avatar to better reflect my personality as of late. I sure hope one of those blood vessels doesn't burst ;)

You know, I've been acting out in a lot of FEAR lately. F-false E-evidence A-appearing R-real. I don't know what's going on with my petition at VSC and I keep dreaming up worst case scenarios for myself that drive me crazy. I do think it's good that I made an inquiry, but I also think it's good that I back off a little and let the process run it's course for a couple weeks.

I've seen some approvals as of late (Spiritee, Scott & Marleen) that have similar timelines so I hope something comes in the way of an approval soon. I have hope again.

One of the hardest parts of this process for sure is the waiting, but it's also the uncertainty. Nothing is a given until the visa is in hand. There's more to this process than what's displayed in our posts. There's the relationship that drives us to go through this madness. I think I'm learning to put the relationship before the process. It's a delicate balance for sure. Especially when the beneficiary doesn't fully understand the process and what it intails on the USC side.

I thought I prepared my fiancee for the long haul, but I really didn't. I compared my process to others in my similar situation. I said we should hear something within 60 days, nothing. I said we're with an adjudicating officer and we should hear something within 2 weeks, nothing. I just wanted to tell her some good news and give her hope, but it was false news and false hope. All this disappointment has weighed heavy on the relationship. Because of that, it's weighed heavy on the way I'm handling the petition now. Very intensely.

Don't ask me the reasoning behind this post. I think I just feel like writing. I just want express to newer people to really prepare for the long haul and not to build expectations for this process. You want your approval to come as a pleasant surprise, not as an "it's about f*#king time, you son of a b*#ch as* moth*r fu#k**. The USCIS gives themselves 6 months for the process, and so should you. It's not even a given that it's within 6 months.

I guess the advice I would be giving is to put the health of the relationship first. To get involved knowing it's going to be a long wait. Don't focus your efforts talking about every little detail of the process. It's better that your relationship be the forefront of your thoughts and not this process. Let the process take a back seat and things will come to pass. You see it everyday in this forum. People getting approved.

Good Luck to Everyone!!!! and God bless!!!!!

This might be the reason why your petition is still pending. May be somebody at USCIS is reading your post and enjoying your Maniac display. Keep on ranting and your NOA2 might be in the mail by June,2007.

Don't ask me the reasoning behind this post. I think I just feel like writing.

That's what's so great about this board. We can just be hear when we need to be.

I needed to read your post tonight before going to bed. I'm only 40 days in to the process (at CSC no less) and have always prepared myself for the wait- the long, unknown wait. In the last few days I have been focusing on the process when i shuld let it go, let it be what it is. Your post remined me to do this. Thank you for writing tonight. Thank you for reminding me I am not alone nor crazy for my thoughts.

Over the last few weeks I've followed your case. I am really hoping for your NOA2 to come soon. (as well as all those others stuck waiting without rhyme or reason). Can't wait to do the NOA2 happy dance for you and your fiance! (F)

This process has certainly taught me to chilll out a little. I have always been a control freak and having such a significant event in my life being completely beyond my control is difficult. But learning to calm down, be patient and go with the flow will make me a more managable personality for my fiance!!!

Whasamatter Andy? You had too much coffee this evening? LOL

But learning to calm down, be patient and go with the flow will make me a more managable personality for my fiance!!!

Hadn't you heard? This is actually a new pre-marital counseling program implemented by the government under the guise of immigration. It's meant to teach you how to cower.....

Yeah, I am totally with you on this Andy. You can tell her all of the news you actually have, which in essence is NO news at all. Which just drives the both of you crazy. And you want so desperately to tell her something positive when you call, or when you write the emails...but then there is just nothing to say. Its very difficult, and I completley understand how stressful it can be on the relationship.

Stay strong, and the two of you will be reunited soon. I see your sig. says with an adjudicator....cant be much longer now. Good luck my man. :)

So I am not alone! I'm only 15 days into this process and I've tried to prepare myself, and my fiance, for a long run but it's hard.

I've tried to explain to my man how we will probably be waiting for months. He told me to move to Brasil now. It's hard to be patient and at the same time I heard of someone who got their NOA2 in 2 weeks!

My friends tell me to stay away from this site and not stress myself out...maybe I should. I'll do the 'dance' for you all though, and hope I'm next.

Take care! :star:
