My fiancé has just completed his Naturalization process in Atlanta, GA. It took him 5 months exactly. He didn't have any problems whatsoever. He also said that comparing to his Green Card process, this one was a piece of cake. Good luck with yours!

Took me 2.5 months. A lot depends on where you file, check some of the recent monthly filers threads for others from your local USCIS office.

As to what to bring, follow the Guides http://www.visajourney.com/content/naturalization_guide. The important thing for a marriage based interview is birth certs of any kids born in the USA and tax filings, they also like to see co-mingling of resources such as joint bank account, both being on the deeds of your home etc.

OK, I just went crazy looking and discovered they had sent me a request to get my finger prints done last September, the envelope slipped behind my dresser and so didn't see it till now.

Should I do as they say and file the reschedule part at the bottom or since it's so long, should I call and claim it never arrived?

That is your NBC* application number. You can find it on your N400 receipt letter and biometrics notification.

last September? its possible your case is deemed abandoned since you never showed up and never corresponded with them for this long. You need to find out by calling and asking if your case is not denied due to abandonment.

I know it is tempting to say it never arrived, but it did. If you had found this a few days or even a month after the BIO date then ou might get away with it, but this long afterwards the question will be, "Why did you wait until now to contact us?" Just fess up and tell them that the notice fell behind the dresser and ask what you need to do. Lying to the USCIS can result in very bad consquences even if you think it is a "little white lie"--the worst is you will have to refile and pay the fee again. Getting caught lying can result in deportation in the extreme case. SInce they do not track these things, there is no way for them to know for sure if the item was delivered correctly or not. They just know that it was mailed and has not been returned. During this process the burden of proof is on you. You need to be pro-active at every step.

Good luck,

Dave

they would really have no way of knowing you lied or not but Dave is right...you've waited far past the normal guidelines of contacting the USCIS if you hadn't heard anything. I'd still try to call the customer service department and see if they can "resurrect" your file so that you don't have to pay the fee again
