I have a dilemma - not sure what to do

Just going thru my paperwork and on the DS-156 it asks if anyone has ever filed a visa application for me. To make a long story short, my father relocated from Canada to the USA back in the 60's, I was only a baby when we moved and know that GC's were issued for the rest of my siblings. When I was crossing over at customs on day using my nexus card, I had them do a search to see if my old GC number came up. The system showed nothing for me in the system but entry for my older siblings. We moved back to Canada in the 70's and my mom returned our GC's to the US government.

My question is should I put this on my DS-156 (don't have any info of what the numbers where or date of issuance)or just leave it alone? If I do put this info in, then how is this going to affect me getting entrance into the US on a K1...need help as we are putting package 3 together.

I would say yes, I assume you were issued a GC right? That way if you say yes but are wrong, no worries. If you say no when in fact the answer is yes, it can be construed as lying or strying to hide something.

It won't matter, you returned to Canada in the 70s.

Good luck

Not sure if I was issued a Green Card. Should I my siblings GC numbers with me to the interview or add this information with the paperwork?

Thanks Canadian Wife, your right I will put that information in. I have a photocopy of my sister's gc and will bring to the interview. It's better to be honest than not and if I'm not and get caught then I will never be allowed in the US again.

I would say "yes" Then attach a sheet of paper explaining that you felt there was a possibility you might've had a GC as a child, since your older siblings did have. I agree with canadian_wife, if they find it - you declared the info and a "no" answer can not be used against you. If they find nothing, then you're still ok. But at least you provided as much info you can remember from childhood.

Thats Exactly what i would do in this Case! If they find it and you said " YES", you ok! IF you said "NO" and they catch it you got BIG Problems. Err on the side of caution, Tell them what you do know! Good Luck!

So going over the border this weekend and the nice customs agent was able to give me my old GC number. Now that I have the number, I noticed the GC number over top of my name on the NOA2. Nice to know that I am still in the system. Whew!

Actually that's called your A-Number (short for Alien registration Number).

Since it's on your NOA2 it looks like USCIS already found your old file.
