Hey guys,

Just a last minute quick ####### question regarding he collating of documents.

Currently, for example with my I-130 package I have everything, every sheet completely loose, all just packed behind one another, meaning there is no real way to differentiate where one piece stops and one starts without working through everything. Did you guys separate everything individually with say, a paper clip, so you can easily ill out each piece of different documentation, or did you just leave it all piled in one big pile, with no way of differentiating between parts?

I want to avoid acco fasteners, just as I don't really want to hole punch everything. I don't know why, Im just conceded ill do it in the wrong place or something similar, so I want to avoid that route.

So, say for example, in my I-130 forms, the actual form is two pages long. Are you just leaving those sheets loose, not attaching them together, so they could be easily found and separated from the pile of papers?

This is my concern, I just don't want whoever opens it, searching for something, pulling out a page, wondering if the next page has anything to do with the current page and so forth?

Also, I have a couple of attachments, mainly for my G-325a, regarding last five years employment. I have one for me, and one for my wife as we both needed more space. Should I be putting our names on each one and signing all of those too? If I was to shape everything together, or paper clip it, there would be no need, as it would be obvious what went with what, whereas, lets say the papers were accidentally dropped by them, they would have no idea what went where in some cases. This is my main concern!

Like I mentioned those 3 stuff were what I paper clipped. I-130, I-485 and I-864 forms are more than 1 page and I just leave them loose in order.

And about G-325A, I also attached extra page for me and my husband's last 5 years of address. We moved quite a bit. What I did was, I just put CONTINUING OF APPLICAT'S RESIDENCE LAST FIVE YEARS, and then made a table that looks like on the form and put extra address there. And I place the sheet right behind the G-325A.

I read somewhere in this forum that USCIS makes scan of every single pages for their system. So I really didn't worry about somebody pulling out the paper in the middle of the package and getting lost its space.

I hate to make holes on my sheets, too. So I used paper clips but I minimized the use of it.

I once read the USCIS "mail room guide" for mailroom employees. It specified EXACTLY what the mail room employee must do, even saying that the outer envelope should be opened completely on two sides to ensure there are no loose photos in there. In the mailroom, they find all of your parts of your packet and then put them in their file/folders. It was pretty amazing how detailed and specific their standards were. The chance of things getting lost is very minimal.

They recommend that you use acco fasteners and paper clips. I clipped the i130 together and the 1485 together. I also used acco fasteners to keep everything in place. Also, use tabs!

Avoid tabs. If you must, you can use post-it notes along the bottom edge only.
