VJ Friends,

After months of ordeal, my fiancee's K1 visa has finally been approved. It still hasn't sunk in yet. We had the interview back in late November but got blue and we were both so depressed that I just put everything immigration-related out of my mind and haven't been back to the forum since.

I will write an interview report once my fiancee has the visa in hand, but I have updated my sig to include what we went through.

We were interviewed multiple times by an investigator. Full psychological interrogation tactics were employed during the phone interviews to try to get us to react and possibly say the wrong thing. But if your relationship is real, then nothing will stand in our way.

Extremely personal questions were asked including protection choice. The investigator called my ex-wife and I think her boyfriend. Her ex-husband and father were called, who I would consider hostile witnesses.

I wish that they sent investigators to my fiancee's apartment complex instead of doing everything over the phone so they can see that she lives by herself.

Here's our backgound:

I know I'm rambling but I'm not thinking straight, especially since I wasn't able to get back to sleep after the 3am phone call :)

You're in the pink, congratz. Now, go and get pregnant, and get on to the next step, congratz!

Thanks for all the congrats guys. To be fair the investigator did ask for permission to ask the personal questions. We chose to answer them because we had lots of red flags and felt the more answers we could sync up the better. And it worked out for us.

We front loaded to the hilt and the investigator told us that our case is very difficult and the COs had all met to discuss it.

Why difficult?

Why difficult?

- She was older then me when we met 20+ years ago.

- We were both still married when we reconnected.

- She waited for her ex to file for divorce so he would save face and be less hostile but he didn't.

- Our divorces were finalized within one day of each other.

- My ex-wife did not want to move out until the divorce was finalized so she could continue to rent out her house.

- My divorce was amicable

- There was almost nobody from her side at the engagement

- Her father and ex may have said that we were not legit (she was the architect of her father's business interests and expansion)

- We included her kids on the petition and withdrew them because her ex would never sign the quit claim.

- The date my fiancee moved to her apartment could not be verified.

- Too many coincidences leading up to our reconnection and eventual remeeting.

Among many other dueseys.

So they pretty much came to the conclusion that we couldn't make this stuff up even if we tried.
