864 for self employed USC's

I am a self employed computer consultant and living in Denmark. We were going to do a DCF here in Copenhagen and the only real headache I have is for the I 864.

I last lived in the US in 1999 and except for last year where I was salaried I have been self employed. I am in the process of sending my tax returns for the last few missing years. These do reflect the self employed bit. But is there any thing else that I should do? They told me at the embassy that it would be ok to use my Moms address to begin with. Even though I am not sure of this.

I am bringing my business with me to the US and have just incorporated in Delaware. I will be salaried by my company when I arrive in the US, but I don't know if they will accept that as I am the owner.

Has anyone else tried petitioning while self employed or owning a corporation?

I'm sure someone, somewhere has, but I don't have a link to their story. I was actually not employed when I sucessfully petitioned, if that's of any use to you. Document your income and prospects carefully and thoroughly, ie; if you will be taking any clients with you.

Evidence of your past ability to make sufficient money doing what you are doing and proof that you'll be doing the same thing in the US should be a good start toward convincing the CO that your spouse will not become a public charge.

If you have any assets, those might be worth considering as well.
