Timeline

My priority date is Aug 15th, 2011 and still waiting for NOA 2. I did my part of the research for immigration process but did not hear about VFS can anybody explain that to me....

VFS is a company that Embassy uses to collect all the documents.

You can compare it is VFS in india like NVC in US, a document collection agency, that is contracted out by Embassy.

They also deal with most of the "customer contact". For example for any question you would call/email VFS and they will "get back to you" with a canned response in 1-2 days after they have contacted the consulate. If you choose to email them then I would suggest to only ask ONE question per email ;)
