I'm not sure about citizenship, are the allowing dual now? i don't plan on ever moving back to canada, but i also don't really want to give up my citizenship

If you become a us citizen the states will always think of you as a US citizen (they will not make you renounce your canadianship. Canada will recognize you as a Dual citizen Canadian/US citizen.

You will always pay uncle sam from then on no matter where you live but In most cases I think the positives out do the negative to becoming a us citizen... 1.5 years and I will be going for mine.

thank you!! yes it is. I will do the citizenship then when I can, I was only worried about having to give up canadian citizenship but if thats not required then there is no downside to doing it.
