I posted this topic in the IR-CR-1 forum, but hopefully Vietnam forum will help me find the right answers.

Here's the problem. NVC informed me that the case is "complete". Then a few hours later I received the checklist cover letter that requires the beneficiary's Police Certificate (from Australia), which I already DID send it to them with the IV package.

I called them and asked about the email/request. They said I need to request the police certificate to be sent directly to the embassy. But then I already included it in the IV package. How can I get it to the embassy? NVC already has it!

Would it be okay if my wife brings the [another] police certificate to the interview (which has yet TBD)?

first things first.. You are not dealing with the Embassy(in HaNoi) and anything sent to the Embassy will likely get lost in the works...

She can go to get the police certificate and she can hand deliver it to the consulate(in HCMC). She just needs to include the case #...

It may take a while to get the police cert so she can get it now and take it to them. They likely wont send it to the consulate as they provide it to her...

Thank you. Glad to know that you can take the police cert to the interview.

in Hanoi?

Requested Korean police cert at Korean embassy in HoChiMinh in person and submit to US Consulate in person too. First try to call Korean embassy for cert, a Vn customer service said they don't issue police cert. When my brother's wife walked into the Korean embassy and talked to a Korean staff, she handed her application and told her to come back within 6 weeks for cert.
