Medical. Her regular checkups for medication. She has hypertension and had a slight stroke 10 years ago but fully recovery after rehabilitation. Her right eye is impaired due to pre-retinal haemorrage affected in 2006.

A letter from doctor of hospital. But it basically states what her condition is and what medication she has been taking. (Seriously, nothing helpful of this letter when i first read it).

The staff said that lots of people who also have the same or similar illness same as my mum. But it's not that severe to make her not being able to get on the plane. So this is not an excuse.

Her records of entry and departure and the duration of her living outside of the US since 2001 to 2008.

all the evidences that you mentioned were present before she decided to depart the USA 4 years ago. The daughter's issue/stroke began a year a year after your mom because a US Resident in 2001. The medical letter serves strong purpose if the condition is severe . you're right. Medications are administered to stabilize someone's health i.e. diabetes or get them well.

You mentioned she had records of her travel to/from the USA between 2001/2008.. perhaps to prove her presence. She'll need more than that since they are not likely to consider that. A person who accepts US-LP Residency has the right to find out what's necessary after a long departure from the USA. The information is covered in the Welcome letter after approval of AOS or someone is admitted to the USA.

For Yourself - you can apply for the Diversity visa program as you were advised. Your next opportunity to be registered would about October 2012 and they would make selections about 6 months after you registered. If you are selected (done randomly by a computer) you will be asked to submit an application and the process would take about 6 months to be approved. So you're about 2 years from entering the USA assuming you go this route successfully.

How much time did dhe spend in the US between 2001 and 2008? You make it sound like she travelled a lot.

Thanks RICARDO4EVA2 & Boiler.

Yes, she did travel a lot on & off from 2001 to 2008  Most of the time, she stayed for 6 months. There were around 3 times she just stayed for 3 months. -_-"" That's why i said she's the worst case scenario. ">_<"

Whew.. it now appeared she was at risk to end the LPR status as quick as it began. Since she was staying 6 month in/out .. she didnt really have the immediate interest to just stay in the USA.

So she never took up residence in the US, just visited?
