Filing my taxes

Hi, I'm wondering how I should file my taxes this year. I married my non US citizen husband in March 2011. He just moved here at the beginning of January. I know I can't file as single, but I can't really file jointly with him either. Does anyone know what the best way to file your taxes are? I've read that there is like a $500 marriage penalty, which doesn't seem fair since I didn't get any support from my husband. We managed our finances separately up until the beginning of this month. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

There is an option "Married filing separately", but I would really consult some tax experts. Try H&R Block for example; they don't charge much for simple returns. They could tell you what your best option is.
