Hi Everyone!

I'm a permanent resident here in the USA, and I have been here since 2005. I'm currently enrolled in college, and I'm doing a communications paper on the importance of non-verbal communication in K1 and K3 (fiance and spouse) visa interviews. Non-verbal communication is anything unspoken. Basically, the way you act with your significant other. Eye contact, distance between you, hand holding, etc.I know that in my case, the USCIS agent said that it "was very apparent" that we were a real couple just by the way we reacted to each other non-verbally during our interview. Does anyone here who has gone through a K1 or K3 visa interview think that their non-verbal communication with their fiance/spouse helped or hindered your case? Also, had anyone given you any advise on how to act in the immigration interview? (ie: make sure you hold hands, make sure you don't appear too clingy, etc)

I would love to hear some responses to this for my research! Please include your nationality when posting =) You can post them here, or email them to jenihullett@yahoo.ca

Thanks in advance, and good luck to all the current visa applicants! There IS light at the end of the long immigration tunnel!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

In many countries, the petitioner is not allowed into the interview room with the beneficiary. Even when they are, the petitioner may not attend (in my case, my husband was home looking after our twin babies). So your pool of respondents may be small.....
