Timeline Question

Hi,

I'm on the i-130 F1 category and since it's looking like my date may be current I'm trying to find out a few things, if anyone can help clarify that would be great:

1) It looks like my date may be current when the april bulletin is released. If so how long after that would I expect to be called to the embassy (UK) for an interview?

2) After interview, if it's successful, how long of a period do I have before I have to get to USA or my greencard will expire?

Any help here would be great, good luck to everyone.

has your father or mother filed the rest of the paperwork, is your file complete and are you only waiting for the interview date?

we need more information on your case, what is your priority date and how far along are you in your case?

if your file is complete the Embassy won't call you, they will send you a letter of what to take and about the medical exam.

I don't have a good answer to your questions, but based on what I've read here on the forums, this is what I've seen:

1) It looks like my date may be current when the april bulletin is released. If so how long after that would I expect to be called to the embassy (UK) for an interview?

If your priority date becomes current on the next Visa Bulletin, you will probably receive an interview before the VB is up, around the 20th of this month. Your interview will be scheduled to be within the next few weeks.

Just in case, I saw your PD is 24MAR05. Since F1 is supposed to move around 5 weeks each time (and right now the cutoff is 01FEB05) I'm not sure the cutoff date will reach your PD on April's VB. But your PD will probably be current on May's VB.

2) After interview, if it's successful, how long of a period do I have before I have to get to USA or my greencard will expire?

I have no idea about this one.

once they stamp your passport with the visa, you have 6 months to enter the country. you will get the GC once you are in the US

Thanks for the answers guys, my PD is indeed 24MAR05 and all of my paperwork (and my beneficiarys).

I was kind of worried I would have to pack up and leave within 6 weeks of completion of the interview, hopefully not as I won't be ready at this rate (I'm still completing some 3rd level studying)
