A letter from her employer is on the list in the instructions for the I-134. If she can get one wrote then send it to you FEDEX or such, even scan and email it to you would be better then nothing if your interview is soon. They might give you a 221 requesting you submit an original document, but that can be handled quickly when the letter arrives.

Unless the US Citizen is self employed, having the employer's letter is a must.

I've seen cases where for some "unknown" reason the employer was not giving the letter.

What I suggest is for her to write the letter, put her supervisor's name as the writer, print using company's letterhead, and take it to her supervisor to sign, then Fedex it to you.

It does not need to come from HR.

Remember the letter must contain her position, how long she has been working for the company and her salary.

You need something more recent than December of last year. You should show copies of pay stubs for at least the last two months. Her w-2's and latest tax return will establish a history of employment.

The only thing a pay stub from December says is that she was working in December. It doesn't say anything about January or February. If you don't have a current employment letter, I mean withing a couple of weeks of your interview, you better have copies of all the pay stubs for January and February. She can scan and email those to you, or fax them, just before your interview.
