Hello,

Currently me and my wife are in the last part of getting her her visa and the last step is assembling the documents listed in packet 4. We have completed everything except the affidavit of support.

When we move back to America I will be unemployed and we are moving back in to my parents house for a short time. My mother would be the one supporting both of us while we are transisting. Which form do we have to file Exactly? Do I file the I-864 as the primary petitioner and my Mother files the I-864A? Or would she be considered a Joint sponsor and not a household member?

Thanks for any help!

As the petitioner, you must file an I-864. Your mother can file an I-864 as a joint sponsor or file an I-864a as a household member. It would be better to file as a joint sponsor in your case since you will not be counted in your mother's household.
