Ours was transferred back in the day. It didn't make any difference at all to the time it took, but we did not have an interview.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Yes having your case transferred to the California Service Center is becoming more and more common. The transfer occured most probably because the person who reveiewed your case felt it could be adjudicated without an interview and/or your local field office is backlogged. Although not very common, please be aware that your case may at some point be transferred back to your field office, in which case you will have an interview. If this happens it is not something to worry about necessarily, it most likely means that there was something in your application that required further explanation.

Today we received NOA from USCIS regarding the AOS. It stated to speed up processing they have transferred our case to the California Service Center. Is this common?

Matt and Lili

Not to bust anyone's bubble, but we got the same letter (the exact letter) and our file stayed at the CSC for almost 7 months and then received a letter saying it was transferred to our local office for an interview Jan 17th. We had our AOS interview and we are still waiting with no Green Card yet. 10 months now since applied for AOS this is taking much longer than expected. USCIS filed a report and hope to hear some thing soon.
