No. You don't have to get it translated for immigration. But you may want to get it done before you come to the US. Its much cheaper to have it done there.

depends if u r in cairo or alexandria...if cairo go ask at ur local police station about "feesh gena2i" criminal record and if u r in alexandria go to "modreyet el amn el gededah" in smouha for 15 pounds u will get it done u dont need to take anything but a passport pic or u would be lucky if the station would be equipped with computer camera so u would have one of those new computerized criminal record...u do need to get it certified by the ministry of foreign affairs, and before u can do that u make sure u have ur criminal record signed and stamped with the national seal (she3aar el gomhryea) from the officer in charge where ever u will get your criminal record otherwise the ministry of foreign affairs won't accept it as a legal document (i know, bureaucracy bullshit but u have to do it)...finally both criminal record and military papers do not need to be translated..good luck

Are you for certain that you do not need criminal and military record translated??
