edit: oops, that topic is supposed to say "Question" not "Questing", haha.

Hi everyone! I'm glad I found this forum--it helps reading others going through the same process.

Quick intro/status update is the consulate in Montreal is awaiting packet 3 from us, so while it's exciting we're approved and on our way, it's still quite the task, and I had a question about packet 3 instructions and specifically form DS-156K...

Form DS-156K has the following line:

THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS MUST BE ATTACHED IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR A FIANCE NON-IMMIGRANT VISA

Your birth certificate

Divorce Decree (if any)

Marriage Certificate (if any)

Death Certificate of Spouse (if any)

Evidence of Engagement to Your Fiancee

Birth Certificate of all children listed

Evidence of Financial Support

Police Certificates

The pdf for packet 3 instructions says they want one copy of DS-156K...do they want all those others things too? Or just the DS-156K form and they'll see all that stuff at the interview? Because packet 3 instructions also say to include the checklist of documents for the appointment, and all the stuff above is on that checklist. For others that sent in packet 3, did you include the documents above with 156K or did you just send form 156K only?

Thanks :)

Just send the forms and the signed check list with an X in everything that you are taking to the interview with you. Include with that 2 passport photos and a copy of your bio page in your passport. Everything else goes to the interview with you. Make sure to make copies of everything!

Thanks Jeannie :) If all goes well, packet 3 will be on its way tomorrow!

You are most welcome. The sooner the better! Wait a week after you send it and start calling DOS to see if it has been logged and packet 4 sent. You can book your interview as soon as they say it has been sent, you don't need to wait for the physical packet (letter) to arrive.:D

The only one I signed is the DS-230 on page 2. It was the only one that didn't say to not write below this line. I did not sign the signature part on the last page because like on all the other forms it says not to write below this line. You will sign them at the interview.
