Inflation versus CD interest.

Stated inflation for 2011 in the US is 3.5%, can't even get 0.9% interest rates on a CD.

For example, if you have $10,000.00 in a CD, only worth $9,650.00, but then you were paid $90.00 in interest. Since you earned that interest have to pay state and federal income taxes on that amount.

This isn't right, should add an inflation index to your savings so you can show a loss! Really have crooks running this country, and why do we have inflation? Simple, if those crooks want to blow more money, they just print more of it since it no longer has to be backed up with gold. So now, inflation becomes a hidden tax, but we are supposed to be too stupid to know that.

I frankly feel the vast number of Americans are stupid.

New York municipal bonds are paying 6% and the dividends are exempt from federal, state and local taxes.
