First of all Thank you an advance for those who share their experience. Please give suggestions or share information.

I have worked in USA for 3 years or so and have filled taxes. Matter of fact I received tax refunds from State and Federal. Now that I am married to an USC after marriage I filled for change of status. I have filled all the forms as needed. However, as i came a cross few topics(in this form) I should have attached copy of my tax documents (which i did not). although i have worked illegally. Will this cause an issues for change of status. perhaps i could bring my tax documents to the interview if needed? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Did you mean to say you have worked illegally or was that an error? I'm confused because you also mentioned that you filed taxes.

Why not?

I would like to make my situation clear. An F-1 student has worked (unauthorized to work=illegal worker) for few years with SSN and had tax deductions on every paycheck (like regular tax payer)

Have filled taxes every year (for past few years that have worked) and received tax refunds from state and the fed. Got married sent all documents to USCIS, however did not include my tax documents. Will this cause an issue?

thank you :(

I also worked in the US (though legally) while on F1 visa - but didn't include my tax documents in the AOS, because we weren't using my income to qualify. I did, however, declare all the work in the forms (G-325A asks for this information) - did you declare your work history in the form?

Was it your SSN? What did you select when you completed the I-9? At any stage did you use a SSN that was someone elses, or claim to be a USC on your I-9's?

I did not declare work history in G-325 form.

Working without authorization is not "being made an issue of" at the AoS stage or thereafter. A deal breaker can be to use a false (other person's or fake) SSN or not filing income tax returns. You are in the clear here.

Also bad is being not forthcoming with the immigration folks. You should mention your work history at the AoS interview and bring your tax returns to show that you gave Uncle Sam his cut. It will work in your favor.

My mommy always told me that you can dance 'til the music stops. The music will only stop once the AoS interview is over, so not to worry.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

You MUST declare the work. It is a lie otherwise.

I'm a K1er and at POE the customs officer told me I could work with my SSN (which I received within 2 weeks). I went on interviews and turned down 2 jobs out of fear. Wish I read this from you two months ago huh.gif. Good to know!
