Alien number different on AOS receipt

Hi All,

I am on student visa and have EAD card (employment authorization document)

I applied for AOS (i765 + I485) after marriage to USC by naturalization

I used my A# from that EAD card as alien number on my for I-485

Now 2 weeks ago I received acknowledgement receipt for my forms

The USCIS alien number on that receipt is different from the A# on my EAD!!!

Is this how it is supposed to be?

What should I do now?

I remember there was a person who had that same situation as yours. I hope she/he sees your thread. But I'm just saying there is somebody out there has the same situations as yours. So don't worry too much.

This is normal for OPT students. Nothing to worry about.

It's me. If the A# on your NOAs is consistent, it will be your permanent A# and you will use it from now on. The one on the old EAD was for your student.

I was worried back then, and after the infopass they told me it was normal for one have an non-immigrant EAD or documents before, and the one on AOS NOAs was the real one. No problem.
