Me and my hubby went for our AOS interview this morning at the Santa Ana CA office. Our appointment was at 9:35AM, got there at 9:15AM but didn't get called in till 10:50AM so it was quite a wait. My hubby was dying of boredom because cellphones are not allowed in the building. I brought a book with me so that kept me from being bored. When we finally got called in, the IO greeted us, swore us in, then asked us to sit down. He asked to see our ID's, my passport with the visa and expired i-94, EAD, and SS#. Then he started asking the typical questions: When and where we met, when did the relationship got serious, when did my hubby propose, where do we currently live and who lives with us, asked about our wedding reception, etc. He also asked if we brought any pictures, which we did, and handed it to him. I labeled the pictures with the dates and also where it was taken which he liked. He asked if he could keep some of the pictures and also make copies of them. He also asked if we have any documents showing evidence of our marriage. I gave him statements of our joint checking acct, credit card bills, cellphone bills, letter of tenancy, and joint tax return. He also asked if he could keep those for our file. He asked if we had any assistance filling out the forms and I said that we did everything on our own. He mentioned that everything was very well organized and put together (Thanks to this forum  ). Then after that he went to his computer, had a little chit chat with us, then said that everything looks good and he is approving our case!

I owe a lot to this forum. You guys helped me with everything and I am so thankful :)

Do we really need to have a joint bank account to represent besides the marriage certificate? Did the IO questioned for it?

We're just like each other lol. My husband wasnt nervous at all. I asked him while we were in the waiting room if he was nervous, and he was like "no, why would i be? they're just gonna ask us things about each other that we should already know...on the other hand, if you answer wrong on a question about me, then i'd be nervous" lol.

The IO didnt really ask for specific documents. He just asked us to show whatever we got, and we showed him everything we brought.

Good luck!

Thank you :)

It would really help to have it, in my opinion, if you guys have something more than just the marriage certificate. It doesnt necessarily have to be a joint account, it could be other things such as joint tax return, utility bills, pictures, or anything that has both your names and same address on it.
