AOS Decision Status - Confusing!

Hi,

We had our family based AOS interview on the 26th of Jan. We have a trip to my home country in a few days and this is the how my case has progresed!

02/02 - Status changes to Decision - we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later.

02/06 - Status changes to Card Production - We ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.

Since we have our trip coming up in a few days we made an infopass for today with USCIS and requested the IO officer to give us an I551 temp stamp so I could travel out (We had requested our IO during our interview and she said once you hear back our decision just make an infopass and we will stamp your passport np). He said he could not give the stamp if the card has been sent out. He checked his system and said my GC was sent out on 02/02 along with my welcome letter - The day my AOS was registered.

We were excited and came home. I then remembered that if I called the customer service they could give me the tracking # for the dispatched card so I could see where it was. Called them and was transferred to an IO. She looked at her system and said there is no tracking number because my card has not yet been produced but is under production :wacko:

So infopass officer says card was produced on 02/02 and is on its way and customer service officer says card is getting produced!

I have searched quite a few forums and see that for everyone the status goes from Card Production -> Decision -> Post Decision Activity.

Has someone ever had it go from Decision to Card Production?

Is the GC mailed along with the welcome letter or does it come in a separate mail?

2 separate letters came to my house for AOS. The welcome letter arrived first and the green card after.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I know my response may be after the fact; however, it is never wise to actually book your trip before you get the GC or the I-551 stamp. There are cases where RFEs are requested as a post decision.

Anyway, I received my welcome notice 3 working days after my interview and the card a week later. All the best.

04/02/2009 - Received SS# in the mail
04/29/2009 - Interviewed. I- 130 approved, I-485 pending IO's review
05/05/2009 - Received NOA2. Welcome letter for Permanent Residency. I-130 and I-485 approved 04/30/2009
05/08/2009 - Touched. I-485 approval letter sent
05/11/2009 - GC received in the mail. Expires 2019
05/11/2009 - Applied to remove restrictions on my SS Card
05/18/2009 - Received unrestricted SS card
10/13/2009 - My darling husband of 2 yrs 5 months 3 weeks 3 days passed away :(
