need advice please??

I'm not sure which forum this should go in...but i need advice for a friend. I'm clueless on what to tell them as i do not know details on the subject myself. they are greek citizen almost 18. they want to travel to the america, so i told them to just apply for the vwp and come as a tourist if they just want to visit. but now they are telling me that they want to live in america forever, so my question is what advice do i give to them to be able to do this? i know that they do have many relatives here in america as well. please let me know what to tell them. im not sure if they get a visa, invitation from relative/friend, etc. i don't know what to tell them how they could come here.

Tell your friends that a VWP overstay is against the law.

If you don't know anything about the subject why have they asked you?

i really have no idea why they have asked me as they do have a handful of relatives that live in the states as well? oh well i told them as much as i knew but beyond the vwp i have no idea thats why i chose to ask here. any info i guess that i could tell them to check out is good.
