wait what's an ROC interview? you mean it's still not over after the AOS interview? i woulda rethunk this whole marrying a girl from another country thing if i knew about this process in advance :bonk:

Yep. I've heard some say it depends on the evidence you submit with the I-751. I've heard others say it depends just as much on whether you were interviewed for AOS. Don't know which is true, but some people are approved without an interview, and others are interviewed. Some even get a Stokes interview. Ya rolls the dice and ya takes yer chances...

Then it is almost for sure that the interview for becoming a citizen.whistling.gif

I don't think I've ever heard of someone getting approved for citizenship without an interview. How would they determine you're proficient in English without an interview?

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

my AOS interview was today and it was very easy. took all of 10 minutes.

most of the interview was reviewing paperworks and matching them up with what i gave them (passports, marriage cert, i-693, photos). officer asked my wife exactly 4 questions...if she speaks english (very little), her dob, the street we live on, and if she's been or was a member of the communist party. i provided a bank statement with both our names, he went to make photocopies of all the stuff...and said we're APPROVED and wait for the green card in the mail.

that was it, easy peasy. just a disclaimer our case is pretty airtight and relationship is very legit in their eyes. the whole process has been easy and seem more like a formality than anything. of course i always did my homework and had read up on others' AOS experience and some were also easy but others were grilled with hundreds of questions and denied so YMMV.
