Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

Uhm, I'm not a native English speaker, but the sentence "In order to continue processing the case" suggests to me that it ain't over.

In fact, they tell you to send them your passport, and to do so following the instructions contained in the link. If you don't take any action within one year, then yeah, it's over, but I guess you won't wait one year to send them your passport, right?

Yes, that's definitely it! Send in the passport pronto and you should have your visa by the end of the month! (Hopefully sooner, but Montreal seems to always be backlogged)

In fact, they tell you to send them your passport, and to do so following the instructions contained in the link. If you don't take any action within one year, then yeah, it's over, but I guess you won't wait one year to send them your passport, right?

That sentence simply means to attach the visa to their passport ;)

Now i have seen cases in the middle east where the ask for the passport and send it back. they are just verifying if they left the country again.

But I do not think canada is like the middle east

Yeah, Canada is definitely different in that aspect. When they ask for the passport, that's good news because they just need to affix the visa to it and then mail it back with the brown envelope.

I sure hope not! That would be incredibly disappointing.

Have you called DOS yet to confirm AP is over?

Have you called DOS yet to confirm AP is over?

Just did - and the operator said, "I see they requested the passport," so I specifically asked, "Does this mean AP is over?" and the operator said, "No it does not." She said they want to "do what they need to do" and she doesn't know "how far they've gotten" into AP.

I don't know how to feel now.

"We need to do some additional AP on your case. As soon as it is complete, we will request your passport."

So....

I don't know how to feel now.

I honestly wouldn't listen to the operator. It seems that VJ members know more about this visa process than they do.

You can always try calling up again and asking. I always suggest this with NVC and/or DOS as the operators' answers vary.

Just send in your passport as fast as you can, and I'm sure you'll get the visa very soon. They just need to get to your passport in the mailroom, finalize everything, attach the visa, and then mail it back to you.

On my husband's 221g, the consular officer wrote:
