Good morning lovely people. just stoped by to share my experience with you.

had my immigrant visa interview just last week, went great. Thank god for last minute

hint i had from a friend. i can't keep this hint from you cos it really helped.

If you already know and have your tax transcript, this may only serve as remindal to bring

them on your interview date. if you don't have them or know what a tax trascript is,

get your petitioners to request for them from the irs. Remember they are totally different from

the regular tax papers. People were giving up to three months to come back with them.

you do not want this keep you away from your love ones not even for a day. Just a thought.

I don't think the 2011 transcripts are available yet, unless u filed ur taxes at the beginning of January; that still doesn't seem possible to me since most jobs don't make w2s available till the 3rd week of January. I filed my joint 2011 taxes over 2 weeks ago and when I tried to request a transcript online, I got the response that my 2011 transcript wasn't available.

Btw, I had a chat with someone who went for his interview recently. He said the officer only requested for 2010 transcript. That makes sense to me considering the facts that most Americans haven't filed their taxes yet, tax transcripts for 2011 aren't available, and NVC specifically requested (when I called them) 2010 transcripts. NVC told me I must send them 2010 tax returns and not 2011 when I filled my AOS back in January.

I provided

2009, 2010 and 2011 of the Official IRS Form 1040 for both the Sponsor and Joint Sponsor with no Tax Transcripts.

I also provided:

VA Award Letter for both Sponsor and Joint Sponsor

W-2s for 2011 and 1099-R (Military Retirement) for Joint Sponsor.

Am not sure about your embassy but i know majority if not all the embassies ask for tax transcript and nothing else. its takes 10 days to get them in the mail.

but you or your pettioner can walk into the tax office and request for it. thats what my wife did and it worked. good luck.
