AOS February Filers.

Look like my case is under normal processing. Just got biometric letter today. Schedule is on Mar 19 but will try to do walk in on Wednesday as i will have a trip in Oregon and California from 09 - 21 Mar for Spring break.

If so did you get noa1 yet

How about you let us know if "file" refers to mailing out date or Delivered date.

Either one You should have got texts /emails by now if you filled form G1145 and included it in your package.

The physical NOA mails should also be in your mail box this week too.

Got my I-797C appointment for biometrics letter yesterday YAY!

How long does it take for me to get my EAD after that, does anyone have any ideas?

OK I got an ASC appointment notice for my biometrics today for the I485 and I765 and am hoping that is what the RFE was referring to. Should I call them to confirm?

The appointment is scheduled for 20 March but will try and do a walk in on Wednesday. It is scheduled for Elizabeth, NJ.

It doesn't look like it. more so The biometric letter is probably dated differently from the online I-485 RFE .

Bear in mind The RFE for I-485 could be also be I-693 or I-864 related too since the 2 forms are part of I-485 app.

Hope you get it on time and respond on time too. Keep us posted too

My 2 sorrry 50 cents to all of us (february AOS filer) :-)

We are probably used to getting emails/texts/letters every week by now but I'm afraid the real waiting starts after receiving your Biometric appointment letter,

From Timelines of previous AOS filers, I assume The following will happen in 1-2 month's time... or even less and sadly or even more too

1. May get an RFE {yeah I know no body wants it including me :-( }, hopefully we dont get one

2. if you are on K1 visa, get your case transfered to california, it speeds up the process ( you may not even get an interview just, your GC mailed to you)

3. Get either one of /a pair/all 3 of your interview (date)letter, EAD & AP at same time or one after the other in no particular order depending on on what you applied for

4. Go for your interview (armed to the teeth with your evidence & most importantly confidence & goodluck.

Dont forget to come share the good news with us!

Also note

1. You have to learn to trust your online status less now as status may be reverting back & forth So look out for that physical mail

2. However online Approval in most cases means it's been approved and you should expect your physical letter to that effect

3. K1 visa holders cases moves faster, Dont get frustrated comparing your timelines to a K1 AOS filer

4. You can sign up for status update on your case at USCIS https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/selectusertype.jsp and add all your receipt numbers afterwards to get emails/texts whenever your case has been "touched". It's better than keying in each receipt numbers one after the other to check for update everyday. You have to check the boxes for emails/texts for each case/receipt numbers on your USCIS account to get those

5. because we'll need patience and may get agitated sometimes Find something else to occupy your time if you are not working yet, In anticipation of your EAD, Build your resume, Volunteer if you may, go for job fairs, apply for jobs,

while also be prepared for your GC interview (it's never too early)

Just to clarify: Even if your case is transferred to CSC that does nto mean you won't be interviewed. They can send the case to the local USCIS office for an interview prior to approval. I have been on VJ for many years and recently created a new account, but have seen several people have their cases transferred only to be interviewed locally.

Just to clarify: Even if your case is transferred to CSC that does nto mean you won't be interviewed. They can send the case to the local USCIS office for an interview prior to approval. I have been on VJ for many years and recently created a new account, but have seen several people have their cases transferred only to be interviewed locally.

Perhaps my grasp of semantics in English language is flawed but I would think both quotes above have the same meaning,

But then, what do I know? if I have only been on VJ for about a month

Further clarification: People who have K-1s shouldn't be posting in this thread. This thread is meant for people AOSing from work/student/tourist visas. People are free to post wherever they want, but keep note that K-1 AOS process is different (if K-1 people are posting here). People AOSing from work/student/tourist visas will never be transferred to CSC, and will have a mandatory interview at their local office.

(Sorry for popping in the Feb filers thread, but when I filed I got a lot of bad advice in my progress thread (because it's not a place other members normally go) so sometimes I check them to save someone else from the same fate).

No luck at manhattan either! I explained to he officer at manhattan that the woman at Elizabeth said i could try elsewhere. This seemed to piss him of very much, he took a copy of my letter. Sony know what he is going to do with it ! Hopefully this won't harm me! Was a horrible person. Any ideas anyone?
