you and i are very similar bc my hubby is in military as well my interview is june 5th so i was researching for any usefull info and i did! i hadnt thought bout the DEERS..however wen i did get my military ID they made an error on part of my last name and i really never bothered to change it but now that i have my EAD i might drag him to the office to get it changed so i can bring it to interview.. A and i took have 2 big scrapbooks that i started ever since we started dating!! =DD thanks for your post really informative. :dance: :dance:

If you have time to do that, then change it just to be on the safe side. My IO didn't ask for anything besides my ticket, but it made me feel so much confident knowing I had all that stuff with me! Best of luck on your interview! If you have any questions just let me know!

Hey guys,

We breezed through the interview today in San Francisco and the GC was approved on the spot. The interview itself was over in less than 15 minutes and she probed very little and didn't ask for most of the docs I'd prepared.

I'll write a full account of it later today when I get home to my laptop (I realize you're hanging out for it AtariBaby!).

Thank you so much to everyone who invests time in this forum. You've all saved me a lot of pain (and $!).

Best of luck to all the people still waiting.

BTW, I received my GC this morning, The date on it is May 7,2012 so I was approved same day but the I/O just decided to delay my celebration a bit by not saying so:lol:

But Who needs an on the spot approval when you can receive the GC 9 days later :D

I appreciate all VJers for making my AOS journey so easy, I even gained info/knowledge from 2006 posts.

Most importantly, I appreciate my wife as always... (F).

I look forward to learning/sharing on ROC 2014. Let's keep the flag flying

I'm still waiting for USCIS to send me a date for Green Card interview!

AOS TIMELINE:

02/08/2012 AOS Application Sent.

02/14/2012 NOA Hard Copy Received for EAD and AOS in mail 2/14/2012.

03/01/2012 Biometrics letter received. Bio scheduled at 3pm on 03/29.

03/29/2012 Successful Biometrics. In & out only 20 mins.

04/03/2012 Received text and email of EAD card production.

04/05/2012 Received text and email of EAD card mailed.

04/06/2012 Received EAD Card.

:ot: What are you guys doing once you receive your green cards? Getting/changing your socials and driver's licenses? Am I missing something? My IO did not give me the talk about what to expect he just said we are approved!

Day 01: 09 Feb 2012, Sent I-130, I-485, I-765.

Day 03: 11 Feb 2012, Package received at Chicago Lockbox.

Day 08: 16 Feb 2012, Email of acceptance, application being sent to NBC.

Day 10: 18 Feb 2012, $1070 check cashed.

Day 10: 18 Feb 2012, $420 check cashed.

Day 10: 27 Feb 2012, I-797C NOA

Day 19: 28 Feb 2012, Received RFE through email alert.

Day 30: 09 March 2012, RFE response sent.

Day 35: 14 March 2012, RFE response received by USCIS.

Day 42: 21 March 2012, Biometrics Appointment.

Day 62: 10 April 2012, Email about EAD card in production.

Day 64: 12 April 2012, Email received for interview on May 17th.

Day 98: 17 May 2012, Interview and approved on the spot.

Green Card in hand!
