This is one reason I do not want to change my mailing address until everything's over.

Congrats! Waiting for the day I can say the same.

Thank You! I am very sure you would say the same...

The reason I changed the address (from Home address to PO Box is because, our mailbox has been broken many times. So to avoid losing the card, we rather received it through the safe place. yes.gif

I see this thread as flooded by people who have interviews.

I wish them all the best.

However, is there anyone whose application got sent to the CSC? I'm just waiting and waiting. It will be 3 months on May 9, 2012 since we sent off our package on Feb 9th, 2012.

All but the I-485 has been approved. Is there any way we can find out how long its going to take.

Thanks,

Chigs

EDIT: Is there no way to tell the CSC I-485 Processing times?

Didnt get on the spot approval in my interview, Bummer!!!!

Matter of fact , My wife got called in first but it went well and we were told we would hear from them in 2-3 weeks...

Now the real anxiety starts for when will we "hear from them"?

I'll post my Interview details later... as I've been busy on some job training classes (which I started last week)

Good luck to Mike Z today too and the other 5 for the rest of the week in their interviews!!.

Here's my story....

Protocols

We had a 12pm appointment, arrived 30+ minutes earlier & went through checks & sat in the waiting lobby watching CNN.

I/O was a lady who had said aloud while walking in the hallway how she was running late despite being an hour earlier at work today and my wife opined that "it was monday" to which she "yeah that's true"

My Wife got called 12pm on the dot. Some 10 minutes later I got called. So After ID check and swearing of oath, she offered me a seat and and quickly asked to confirm the address where we live.

What could have been a factor in a spouse in first

Not sure what made her get called first, but a couple of things about us. We filed about a month after wedding. We had lease on only one name, we are of different races, Relative short length of stay in the US, Notoriety of spouse country, which may be true to an extent but I personally don't play up as a factor cos it's never acknowledged officially and it seems based on stereotypes which I abhor strongly. ( but then, what do i know?)

Questions, Questions, Questions

Then she proceeded to ask the following questions which she had asked my wife

Cant remember the order they were asked....

How did you meet?

where in particular?

How many siblings do you have?

what are their name?

How many does your your your spouse have ?

what is her name?

What's your major(school)?

where & what did you obtain your previous degree in?

What's was your wife's major?

Where does your wife work?

What are her work hours & position at work? **

Where did you go after the wedding? **

What are your(both of us) immediate plans... including for school?

what the color & name of the car?

who does the laundry?

what did you have last for dinner?

Where do you put your dirty laundry?**

Where's your bedroom located in the house?

The Rest & Verdict

What helped was the answers were mostly one word and I took less time than my wife cos she just ticked and nodded mostly,

She did help provide me with the proper answer for the 3 asterisked(**) questions above as I tried to describe rather say the word... to which I just nodded in the affirmative.

She reconfirmed my entry date on my passport and the fact that I had no prior entry, Then she asked for extra document/evidence and i handed it to her, and I suggested i had photocopies of all of it., So She just took all the copies and went out to make copies of the ID's,( wish I didn't, then maybe she may have taken time to look through all the docs we brought, not sure, it would have made any difference anyway). She also didn't take any of our few pics, cos we had sent some of them in the initial AOS file. Then she said to expect to hear from us in 2-3 weeks, thanked and show showed the way out. all in less than 30 mins.

But she did seem in a hurry to go for lunch or have another interview

And now?

We really wish our story ended today on a high (you know nothing beats that on the spot approval feeling, right?) but our story continues and be sure I'll find time to give you updates. For now, we can only stay optimistic... and watch out for the text, emails, mails

BTW, I'll keep to my promise of name change similar to Cava's :P

Goodluck to those yet to go!!!

There seem to be a lull in posting activities for the group generally, but I think it's down to being busy with job/hunting for it & prep for interview among others, hopefully some cheering news bring atleast the "congrats" posts back in torrents soon.

Mine's just the blip in this groups success story, :crying: Let the on the spot approvals roll on!!! :D

Never the less, for those still to go, Just prepare as though you expect the worst and Hope for the best... You can never go wrong with that..

Congrats Captal, That's 7 approvals and still counting... Let the on the spot approvals roll on!!!

So much for an undecided interview experience! I'm out for now  !!!!

Quick update from me - APPROVED :D

had interview yesterday. Not approved on spot.

(guessing we got someone who couldn't approve straight away but also possible IO wanted to review stuff.)

Received e-mail update now: I130/I485 approved.

will post a more detailed review later.

one thought though for now:

felt we had a pretty standard/straight-forward case but that did not mean it was simple in/out.

IO sure as heck asked a lot of questions (all very standard stuff seen previously, nothing evil) but felt like IO wanted to dig and do it by the book.

Didn't seem like IO had looked at the file until asked us in, i believe that did not help either.

21/2 - received NOA in mail for all 4 (130/485/765/131)

23/3 - biometrics scheduled -> did "early" walk-in on 21 March

06/4 - received email update, interview scheduled for 7th May

27/4 - received EAD

08/5 - email: approval one day after interview (7th May)

 Mike Z...

I'm thinking it may be a better idea to post the interview experiences as a separate post like Jay21, Kindly waiting did. (I probably should have done same) #PracticeWhatYouPreach :D

But This way, more folks can read, learn and share in the interview experience. I can always post the link to such post in this group thread.

BTW JamBoy, please find time to share your interview experience too if you may

Also, if you missed it, here's Kindly Waiting's Interview Experience as posted earlier today in a new post

Goodluck to all..
