& If the number of the tax document pages seem embarrassingly voluminous, (As i can imagine, especially if they are for 3 tax years)

Get a Tax transcript from IRS.

choice is yours!!!

thanks for taking time out to answer my question.

we have tax transcripts for 2009 and 2010 but unsure when we can request the tax transcript for 2011 because we recently in the last 48 hours filed for our tax return for 2011. Anyone knows how long it takes to get a tax transcript for a recently filed return?

So I got my email notification for an request for evidence which I fully expected.

Does anyone know how these usually work?

Is it just a letter or do they send your entire I-485 application (G-325, I-693 etc) back? What is the usual time-frame allowed for a response?

I just replied mine today. It was a yellow letter with what they wanted (my case was tax info) I have no idea about the time frame, but I think around a week? When I get mine response I will let you know. Good luck!

Camo, i would send everything from taxes. it is better to have more documentation than lack paperwork.

if you filed jointly then send every tax document you used.

helps avoid more RFE's I have sent everything i could think of and so far noRFE luckly.

Response time is usually 87 days but you may want to send it back ASAP as your AOS process time frame is paused with an RFE and only resumed after they approve your response.

thanks for taking time out to answer my question.

It may take up to 8 weeks more or less after filing, or a week or two after you get your tax returns, So, You may want to send the tax doc you have now( 1040, W@, etc ). Better still call the IRS and confirm how long it may take

But if you want to wait, Then use the IRS Fax transcripts to you or walk-in to local IRS and have it printed out options to get it faster once they are ready.

You will get a letter with details, it will ask you to provide specific documents (in my case w2 and 1044 :crying: ). I believe you have 87 days to respond before your application is considered abandoned; Which means you have plenty of time to respond. Just make sure you send the original letter back with your response.

Best of Luck!

ClassyBee got it before me :(

I am pretty sure this in relation to my FIL's taxes and more specifically since he is self-employed, his Schedule C, D, E, Fs or whatever :bonk:

I am not a tax guy, does anyone know if even if you are self employed, does a tax transcript still cover everything you need including the above schedules and Form(s) 1040?-- if so then we have an IRS Office in Denver that we just go walk in and see if we can get copies directly.

I think the transcript is preferred because it is a Govt(IRS) document summarizing what you filed for and by extension Tax amount for returns/owed as opposed to personal/web generated printed doc (ala turbo tax etc).

The transcripts alone should suffice but then, USCIS could be asking for more. However, I dont know additional doc to include cos I'm not conversant with self employed taxes neither, so You might want to post the question in a general forum if none of the February filers can help.

Thanks for the advice-- I will probably post this in the general forum once I get the RFE letter in hand and then I know exactly what they are asking. For all I know the RFE could be for something completely unrelated, so I don't want to get too far ahead of myself with over-thinking it.

I am still in response review stage for RFE they received it on 7 March! It should be a yes/no thing for them to answer - they wanted proof on how I entered the country. I sent them a copy of my passport stamp.

Why is it taking so long! I am worrying.
