Does anybody know if there is any evidence to show that this is actually the way it works. I have heard of people being permitted to do walk-ins but not really heard if it got them their EAD any quicker?

Anyway, I can't really help with your question-- the Denver Field Office is a little out of my way to attempt a walk-in only to be told "no"-- I'm just going to wait until the 27th for my scheduled appointment.

In my particular citizenship case, it didn't speed things up. I know someone that filed his N-400 almost at the same as I did. I did a walk-in 2 weeks before my appointment and he did on scheduled day. Our status changed to "in line for the interview" almost at the same time. However, this is just one example and I think we all know that different offices follow different rules

Does anybody know if there is any evidence to show that this is actually the way it works. I have heard of people being permitted to do walk-ins but not really heard if it got them their EAD any quicker?

First time poster for a Feb filer!!!

I'm starting to get concerned that I haven't received my biometrics letter yet.

Maybe California is more backed up than other states? Hope it didn't get lost. I might wait another week then call the hotline...

Welcome to the group, Sparkbat .I have not received mine either. Yes it is dependent on how busy your local ASC is.There has to be available slot to have you scheduled for Biometrics.

Although kstrozyk got an appointment @ Fresno,CA but perhaps that's not your local ASC. Some states have more than one ASC's unlike MN where I'm at.

But call USCIS and place a service request for Biometric (this can only be done atleast 30 days after receipt of your NOA letters).

Feel free to update your info on the sheet too.

According to my attorney California isn't so backed up, but certain local offices are. i waited 5 days from NOA1 to Biometrics.

my attorney had just finished an AOS app like mine that only took 3.5 months. but dont worry its coming. it can take up to a month between filing and Biometrics

Well guys got the RFE letter in the mail for I-485----looks like since I am using my husband's income (intending immigrant) he needs to fill out Form I-864A (Grrr I really felt like I studied the USCIS website front and back  ) Oh well...and oh! they are also asking for our marriage certificate AGAIN. Anyone had that happen? We sent it in a certified marriage cert

Hmm... never heard of that before, I personally sent a photocopy of my marriage certificate and so far so good. I did get an RFE but it was for tax information. Hopefully USCIS doesn't send RFE's one at a time!

Best of luck!

Your letter should state what exactly is required from you. and not give room for assumption or "looks like" as you put it.

I agree with dblade, From what I know you can't use your immigrant spouse income and if you have to use a co-sponsor, they must be PR or USC. Please do your research well & make sure you turn in the required & appropriate response. You have 87 days so take your time cos a wrong/inadequate response might lead to denial.

On the marriage cert, How can they possible miss out the 2 copies,1 in I-130 & 1in I-485 that you included.. Guess someone is too lazy to look it through your file.

but hey! Who are you to query USCIS on that. just send another copy. except they asked for original which I doubt

Has anybody done a walk-in biometrics before their appointment?

I need my EAD asap and I think the sooner I do my biometrics the sooner I can get my EAD :innocent:

14days since i did walk in biometric but nothing news. My schedule is Mar 19. I need work permit ASAP coz i just got the job offer in New York. Will work after i come back to NY from my North West trip. Any news any one?

Early Biometric has not been proved to speed things up. However late biometric(I mean after appointment date) can slow things down. So relax the longest wait is usually between biometric and EAD approval/interview letter
