did you have any red flags or did the blue slip just state that you needed a timeline and 10yr residency?

is the timeline and 10yr a common thing in HCMC? would they state on the blue sheet if there was a red flag? just curious.

it is more common to HCMC than other countries... they will not say why... ever.. they just say what they want and when it is due... yes, blue slips are a result of some issue they need to overcome when issuing the visa.. if there wereno issues you would have gotten pink... sometimes the issues may be imaginary, but they cause delays none the less.

She sounds like she is clueless to what is needed.

So not only do we need employer info, but also where we went to school?? If ppl went to the interview not knowing this info in the 1st place (non-members of this forum), I guess all of them would fail the interview. Nowhere in the requirements on the website is stated to have all this info. Also, does my fiancee need a 10 year residency as well?

On another hand, since I graduated from college 10 years ago, how can I put my education on the 10 yr residency if there is none to list. Or should I say I graduated in 2002?

They asked my wife where I got my PhD and when and what it was in... which Univ's I work for, how long, how much did I earn annually... That list of 200+ q's is a great starting point of things to learn about each other... having additional things ready in case they ask is a great idea.. better to be proactive than reactive with a time constraint involved.

So does that information still needs to be listed in the 10 year residency?

10 year residency is just where you lived, dates, phone #'s with whom... and I would include relationship if you were living with someone...

it's a 10 yr RESIDENCY, not some kind of bio...the lady is making it unnecessarily complicated.

my 10-yr res. was one line since i've only lived at one address. i included full names, contact info, and relationship to me of all the people that's lived there during the 10 years from when to when.

...and no you don't need to show proof of them living there i.e. util bill driver license etc.

HA just realized i just basically repeated what scott said verbatim. anyways that's because this forum is where i got all my info when i went through it last year. new people should read the threads that are pinned on top, your 'freak-out meter' would be substantially lower.

My take in this is that WHY NOT DO IT.

People can pretty much get anything notarized. So why not back them with evidences and what's better to prove your residence than where you went to school. Granted that some folks in here are older so this is not applicable to them.

For me when I did my 10 years residency, beside the notarized letter, i had included all of my W2s for the past 10 years and include a copy of my college diploma.

Do everything and anything to improve your chances is my take. Is it that much of a trouble?

well for me i didn't want to go overboard and make it seems i'm compensating for something...and if you give them too much that could give them an excuse to give you another blue while they sort through all the info or do whatever they do.

it kind goes back to the debate of whether you should frontload/overload the data or not. for my case i did what was asked and thought that was good enough because we didn't have any glaring red flag. they should know your basic background/info after an 8-10 month process, whatever they ask now is just stalling tactic or make you jump through more hoops. All IMO of course. some get by fine w/o 10yr res and timeline.

If someone wants to send that stuff anyway but just not on he 10 year residency itself. Keep it simple and to the point. If anyone wants to send that then send it along with the other stuff. Personally just send what they are asking for and hope for the pink.
