Why would you even ask? You clearly made up your mind and no reason will change it...

OK, should abortion be illegal? Which one of your answers trumps the other and why? For me the babies right to exist trumps the woman right(for the most part, there is exceptions)to not give birth.

CR-1 Timeline

March'07 NOA1 date, case transferred to CSC

June'07 NOA2 per USCIS website!

Waiver I-751 timeline

July'09 Check cashed.

Jan'10 10 year GC received.

Making abortion illegal would do nothing else but increase the amount of DIY abortions and abortions done illegally (at a higher price, of course). It would also possibly generate a need for abortion tourism, increase in passport issuance and travel to countries with less strict abortion laws.

Increasing the cost of abortion to, say, $20000, would change very little in my opinion. It would be cheaper to hop on a plane to Europe for a few hundred bucks and enjoy abortion and medical care in one of the european countries that allow it.

I'm from Poland, one of the few remaining European countries where abortion laws are strict and this is exactly how things work there.

Cheers!

"they will do it anyways" is not a train of thought that I subscribe to.

But that is how it's gonna be. Do you really believe penalizing abortion is just gonna make everyone submit to the new regulation and automatically prevent them from undergoing this procedure? As I described before, that's what happens in Poland, that's what happens in Ireland, it will happen in the U.S. should abortion become illegal. Obviously, it will restrict the access to the abortion procedure for those who cannot afford to either travel or pay up to have it done "under the table". Which means the poorer women/families will be forced to give birth and/or try unsafe methods due to lack of legal and safe procedures that will not be available for them. That, in effect, only puts health and life of the women in jeopardy. Nobody wins. For all the others, I doubt there will be any problem to grab a passport and have a few day trip overseas.

In the end, what happens is that these who want to have an abortion, will spend their money elsewhere. Or under the table.

Cheers!

Yes abortion should be legal. That's more a gut reaction than a finely reasoned argument. Partly influenced

I'm sure by the fact that abortions have been legal since I have been aware of them.

Im not religious so Im not overly influenced by what the pope might think.

There is a lot of pain and suffering in this world. I believe if you force people to have unwanted children

you will be increasing the pain and suffering in the world.

I believe the

supreme court justices also were going off of gut feelings and then standing on their heads trying to come

up with a constitutional justification for their feelings. It is absurd to think that there is constitutional

guidance that covers trimesters or viability. They were legislating from the bench.

In order to come to the answer they wanted they had to make it about Privacy?

Moral aspect? Is it moral to tell someone they have to be forced to have a baby with Down's syndrome? What next, will you force women to go off all medication during pregnancy? It would make the baby healthier after all! (Mom might die though.) Where does it stop?

If someone is on tetragenic drugs, and accidentally gets pregnant, are you for forcing them to have a baby with birth defects? Are you offering to take care of it to?

I'd love to see an example of an actual ad that is marketing birth control to young people. I can't think of any condom that has a cartoon mascot, and I don't think condoms even get TV ads in the USA. In fact, I'm not sure I've seen /any/ ad for birth control here.

I think I've heard ads for Trojan on the radio late at night
