I submitted my packet 3 today, and was trying to use the (amazingly helpful!) Montreal guide stickied here, but found some of the links broken. I googled the Montreal consulate and found that they've revamped the site.

Incredibly, there is actually a section with info on Fiance visas there. Woot!

Anyway, if anyone is looking, the new link is: http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/visas/visas/fianc-k-1-visas.html

(Also notable -- the instructions for P3 last week said to include part I and II of the DS-230. Only part I is required now.)

I hope that helps.

The K-1 Visa journey for myself and my two K-2 children:

K-1: NOA1 2011-8-10; NOA2 2012-1-12; Interview 2012-4-24; Visa issued 2012-9-17; POE (Sarnia) 2012-9-26; Wedding! 2012-10-02
AOS: NOA1 2012-11-20; Biometrics 2012-12-14; AP/EAD approved 2013-1-11; Interview 2013-1-31; 2-yr Green cards in hand 2013-2-9 (101 days total)

ROC: NOA1 11-7-14; Biometrics 12-1-14; 10-yr Green cards ordered 4-13-15! (157 days total)

Counting down to naturalization time!

Wow, it looks nice! I thought it was the USCIS website at first. It's nice that they specify the x-ray is not required unless there's tuberculosis, and that they also specify translations are needed.

But the odd thing is under "fiance visas" they ask for the 864 instead of the 134. http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/visas/visas/fianc-k-1-visas/appointment-checklist.html

They also tell you what order to put things in. That's nice :)

wow i guess the increased k1 visa fees they implemented after i got mine actually are paying off! the site is actually useful now lol.as for the checklist its always been an issue they seem to like using the same one for k1 cr1jsut like it still asks for domicile proof which you only need for cr1 also.

I noticed that too! We've already got the 134 done and ready for the interview. I think I'll get my fiance to do the 864 as well and take both.

As Kimbear mentioned they still listed some things that K1s don't need to do. 99% chance doing the 864 now is a waste of time... You do that for adjustment of status. I mean, it's specifically for people who are getting green cards.

That is really weird that they are asking for the 864. Anyone had an interview recently that can confirm whether or not they ask for this?

You don't need the 134/864 for sending in P3.

All you need to send now is:

- Checklist of documents for interview

- DS-230 part I

- DS-156 (2 copies)

- DS-156K

- Confirmation receipt for Form DS-160

- Passport style photos x2

- Color photocopy, biographic data page of passport

The rest of the stuff on the checklist is to be taken to the interview. Hope that helps.
