Hello,

So I got my combo card EAD/AP on friday. I was wondering how travel worked with the AP? Which line do I use when I enter the US? The visitor line? Resident line? Do I have an I94 to fill (white one? green one?) or enter through the France visa waiver ?

Thanks a lot for your answers

You definitely do not enter on the France Visa Waiver program. You should ask the guard which line they prefer you to use, and yes, you will fill out a I-94 (white one). You will be sent to secondary. I would recommend taking out the original I-94 document currently in your passport incase you get an interview (recommended to me by CPB). Good luck.

When I came back with my AP, I was directed to use the permanent resident line at JFK. It took about 15-20 minutes longer than normally, because of the "secondary" - which I didn't actually think as secondary inspection, they just asked me to wait when they ran the AP card. Have the white I-94 card ready as Harpa noted - if they have it available. They might not, since the system is apparently going electronic.

Little-My - the only system that is going electronic is the Visa Waiver Program. The Green I-94W for the VWP no longer exists, but everyone else still gets the white I-94 card. You keep mentioning this so I thought I'd set you straight :)

Ohh, sorry about that! I was told by the airline people when I came with my AP that they weren't issuing the white I-94s either, but then filled it out in the immigration hall since they were available - never trust airline people when it comes to immigration issues :) My bad, and thanks for the info!

OK!

Thanks a lot for your answers. I just wanted to make sure not to get in trouble after our honeymoon :)

Hi, this is very useful as I will be travelling with AP soon.

I would like to know when you left US, did the airline take away your expired I-94?

Normally, they will take it away. Do we need to keep the expired one for the interview?

Thanks.

As suggested above, take the existing I-94 out of your passport and keep it in a safe place until the AOS interview should you have one.
