Hi all! We received our NOA1 on Sept 26, 2011, and haven't heard a word since... I know that the processing times are 3-5 months but it's very hard to stay motivated and positive when it's months upon months of nothing. Does anyone know if there's anyone we can call to get just a verbal "Yes, we're getting to it?".

It all seems a little silly. My husband grew up in the states, which is how we met... back in high school. We went to the same college, and after 2 years of him living back in Canada, decided to date. 2 years later, we were married, and filing for his visa to return. He spent 90% of his life here, so why oh why can't it just be easier and quicker?!

I know this obviously won't change anything... Just needed to really vent to people who "get it". If any of you have any insight into people to call, ways to prep, or easier tips to get through it... please let me know.

Thanks so much for all you do. It's nice to know we aren't alone in this. :)

Don't be discouraged. It will come, just try and keep busy and stop thinking about it - not that I was able to keep my own advice!

Use the time to make sure you have everything ready for the NVC stage because you will have a certain amount of control over the speed of that process.

Good luck.

I feel your pain. We are approaching 6.5 months since NOA1 and are still waiting. I contact my Congressman who in turn had his Immigration Liason contact USCIS on my behalf at the 3 momth mark and the 5 month mark. On both occasions I was told that they hadn't reviewed my petition yet and that I was still within a normal processing time.

As others have suggested you should make sure you are ready for the NVC phase since that is mostly driven by how ready you are. There is a very helpful guide here:

I really understand its hard. It is. We've struggled with the distance and time thing a lot more lately. I hope things start to move forward quickier for us all still at CSC. I keeping taking things one step at a time. Im prepared for the other steps but Im trying to enjoy the journey a little more rather than worrying about NVC, medical, interview and even being approved for I-130. There are so many things to be anxious about and I am trying to be a little half full (well trying to be anyway) :star:

If you guys can visit it really helps. My husband and I are trying to do this too. I'd like for him to come here at easter for while. It makes for something to look forward too! We message back and forth and talk on the phone and its hard because I feel I am missing out on things. I do completely understand how you feel! Just think about the end result though....this going to be one amazing story to tell people in years to come and it will make the relationship stronger :)

I love my husband!!

Thankfully, you don't need a temporary visa to travel to and from Canada. He was here all through December and the beginning of January which was great, but we wanted him to be able to continue working while we're waiting, so he had to go back unfortunately. Thanks so much for the advice! We're getting together everything we can at this point to ensure that we can expedite the rest of this as much as in our power. :)

Thanks!!! :) :) :)

I'm there with you. I've been in this LDR since October of 2010. We met in June 2010, she went back to Russia in October (after J1 visa expired), and we had a week together in August when I went to Russia to see her/propose.

I don't see how the married immigration process flow designers sleep at night knowing that people spend this long away from their other halves!...

Hi all! We received our NOA1 on Sept 26, 2011, and haven't heard a word since... "3-5 months"? Try closer to 7 months and you'll be better mentally prepared. We're at 6 months, 22 days and there have been no touches.
